BF2 & Vent

Im having some trouble with the BF2 sounds being too loud to hear anyone on Ventrilo. No matter what i set the in-game volume at, its always the same volume. Any help?

this mite sound stupid but did u remember to hit apply after setting the ingame volume? and cant u increase the inbound volumes in vent?

Yeah i hit apply, even tried restarting BF2 thinking maybe they didn't go into affect till after, but nothing... Vent's inbound is all the way up.
Just tried setting all my in-game volume to 0%, no change in volume at all.

EDIT: Fixed it, just had to switch from hardware mode to software.
