View Full Version : The Repair Points Thread

Since repair points are hardest to get (without padding) and many players rarely try to get them, I wanted to get a sense of how many repair points the average BF2 player has.

I currently have 217. So, how many do you have?

i have 241 repair points from 34 hours of engineer time. they are all legit, either from repairing the commander assets or rolling on in the armour near others. just worked it out, its about 7 repair points an hour! that seems pretty poor to me.

vesuvan, i gotta say i love the avatar, that film is awesome

Haha yeah, the Goonies rocks. I just watched it again the other day and figured I'd make an avatar featuring SLOTH.

3 from just under 4 hours of engi play.

Quite often I choose the engi kit just for the shotgun in urban maps.

I have right at 750 @ 160 hrs pt.

Most of those have come recently though; because, I am trying to get the meritorious service medal. Normally, I play engi to repair myself or other armor.

If you want easy repair points, find a map with a carrier that the opposing team can attack. Best example is Iron gator, another example would be wake where the carrier is not off limits. Reason being, you get repair points for wrenching the Essex as it is destroyed/ damaged. I got 150 repair points last weekend by doing that!

^^^^^^^excellent^^^^^,
i'm starting over & i just recently got my jackhamer unlocked so i havent played much, but i got 16repair points in l:40mins

i wanted to see how many i could get IAR, but i found one game where there was consisitant spec ops blowing up stuff so i was able to score some points there, but alot of mapps it just depends on people mood i've seen whole games go by & nobody try to get to the cmnd toys to tear them up.
i think its cause really u die alot & 1 point to blow up uav compared to dying, waiting 15 sec, starting over, it sucks really, so ya gotta be confident i guess in your skills behind enemy lines.

i love the engineer kit, its one of the most overlooked i think:nod:

Yeah its a class this is often overlooked due to it requiring more time to gain points. I like playing as Engi for the shotgun/MP7 that if offers, but also for the ability to repair your own vehicles and the commanders assets - which in turn help you - so its a win win for me. The problem now is that I haveto hope someone on the opposing team is keen on destroying the assets so I have stuff to repair.

And interestingly enough, with 78+ hours on Wake, I got my Veteran Engineer badge on Gulf of Oman as the MEC repeatedly carpet bombed our arty.

seems to me like ghost town & wake is the 2 best mapps for the spec ops people to wanna attack cmnd toys. only problem with wake is the arty is so wide open u get sniped alot repairing the arty.

what i hate worse is when u do get a game or server whre the stuff gets blown up & your tryn to get some repairs the cmndr keeps dropini crates stealing your points.

i love to be engineer when im gonna use a tank , like u said above "reapir your own" not too mention repairs anybody next to you

krap, how many IAR points does it take, seems like after 3000+points they give you expert with stars on top .....

i think its just alot of peep think its easier to kill somebody and get 2 points as to try to sneek in to uav area & blow it up for 1, so usually tanks get took out before you can get there to repair, so yeah its hard.

no they dont , but how do you have allmost 4000 points & your not a expert? bf2 needs to fix that.

on a slow game, if theres a spec ops enemy tearing stuff up then i dont htink it would be super hard, unless they guarded their damage, i can repair 3 artys on wake pretty quick, if cmndr dont drop supplies anyway. i hate when they do that, when i command i only do it last resort, i usually give time to see if engineer is heading that way before i have to drop supplies

Well since I posted this I'm now at 450 repairs.

I found the best map has been Warlord so far. Play either as Commander and repair your assets because they tend to get blown up a lot, or go in Armor and ride on top, jumping out to repair after he gets hit by constant AT.

The best I've done IAR has been 17, which was a very long round with constant blowing up of my assets. I'm at 96 hrs in Eng., going to try for expert repair soon... but unless it's the "perfect situation", I doubt I'll get it. I think that 90% of those who have this award padded or co-oped to get it.

I have 23 in 10 hours.... which seems like it might be a highish ratio.

Most of it comes from the two man tank game, where you and a buddy are both Engies and in Tanks repairing one another and blasting. Plus, I'm a bit of a team player at this point in my game and if I see command assets in the yellow, I'll go back and repair them no problem.

I have just over 1100 in 333 hours as an engineer.

I did it the good old fashioned way of parking my armor next to another peace of armor. It took many tries to get to 20 repair points IAR. Basically the only way to do it is get lucky or padd. I laid between two peaces of armor in Karkand and just kept wrenching the entire round. The other team sucked so that helped a lot. Even then I finished the 20 points with about 3 ticks left.

I remember I got my Vet repair badge from repairing my team's arty for a whole round. It was back when the commander could drop vehicles on the guns fairly easily so the commander would drop a car and I'd run up and repair it. It went on for pretty much the whole round. Fun times.

586 in almost 115 hours of Engineer (mostly on foot). I don't try very hard for the badges so I haven't even gotten the 10 IAR for Veteran Engineer yet. I think I got 8 or 9 once.

I have 811 and only have Veteran. I think I'd have a hard time getting expert, even if I legitimately made an effort to earn it. I think it would take some major padding to get Expert, like having someone blow up your assets while you repair them over and over the whole game.

I still think Explosive Ordinance is the hardest though. I think most people who got Expert in that took advantage of when snipers could spam claymores all over.
