Cannot get expansion packs to work

Hi, I just downloaded the bf2 complete collection and i had had regular bf2 before. My Ea downloader says its all complete but when i go to multiplayer to go and play Sf doesnt work, and euro force, and armored fury are just red and btw i have the 1.41 patch, any ideas? thanks.

Did you installed SF and booster packs or just downloaded? SF is expansion and it creates green BF2 shortcut to your desktop. If you want to play SF you must use the green BF2 shortcut.

remember for EF/AF you have to register your bf2 nick to play those expansions. (SF should work though, if its installed and your patched):

One stupid question but I gotta ask cause I am not sure and I am new here.
I bought "bf2 complete collection" and I installed like they told me in that user manual, but, how can I check did I install everything? Can I see somewhere that I did everything ok.

I have reposted the following as perhaps its original location was unsighted by most and I apologies if it has already been highlighted....

I had the same problem. I already had BF2 installed. Couldn't find BF2 SF disk to buy, so went and bought BF2 with SF & Booster pack. SF installed and played no problem, But I couldn't seem to activate my Booster Pack using the Compilation Serial Number. It kept saying enter a valid promo code!!.
Anyway I went into my BF2 client and selected "ALL" servers and sure enough, the EF servers were there, however when I selected "Road Rage" it came up with an error and said I had to install the game (which I already had). It game me the link to the EA Online store. https://profile.ea.com/gamereg.do?locale=en_gb
Out of curiosity I clicked on the "Redeem an Activation Code" the next window asked me to enter my game activation code. So I entered my Booster Pack Compilation Serial Number and it worked. I can now access EF servers

i got the same problem when i bought SF seperatly. you have to play the game as an admin. so either go on the admin account on your computer or right click the icon, and click: run as and then click admin and it should work -well atleast thats what worked for me

Same problem for me: I've purcheased BF2 Complete COllection from EA Store; I've downloaded and installed it, i've patched it to the 1.41, Special Forces works but when I try to join an AF/EF server it shows me the notorious message.

edit - a stupid question: when I go to the BF2HQ in the main menu of the game, and scroll the faction, it appears the European one. So Euro Force is been installed but not activated?!

Nevermind, I've fixed the problem after following the Customer Support istructions:

This error implies that either the code is invalid or has already been applied to your account. If you are sure the code was typed correctly then please check your account to ensure it was registered to you by following the steps below:

1.
Go to the Game Accounts and Billing login webpage.(https://account.ea.com/common/login.do?locale=en_US&site=er&parsid=3422160)
2.
Enter your Login and Password and click Sign In.
3.
A password confirmation page will follow, please re-enter your password.
4.
Click on the My Games tab along the top and look for the 'Battlefield 2 Booster Packs Collection' listing.

If you see the listing for the game then the code has already been registered to you and can not be used through the registration site again.

If you are receiving an error when you attempt to play the maps online and the registration is completed with your account, then the next step is to check the soldier name being used. From the My Account page listed above:

Click on the Downloads Info tab along the top.
2.
Find the line to Edit Battlefield 2 Account Name.
3.
Enter the soldier name you use to play Battlefield 2 online and press ok.

u need to register it.. go HERE (http://account.ea.com/commerce/bf2cc/code-entry.jsp) and type in ur username and the boosterpacks serial number and presto it should work...if not call ea technical support :)

when u go to play it open the green battlefield two icon and not the red.. are u doing that?

I tried both. The green icon only has the SF maps and the red one only has the regular maps with the AF/EF maps in red.

The servers are there in the regular bf2 and there are people playing in them but when I click join server it says CD key is invalid when I registered it. I posted something in the bf2 forums and sent EA an email.

to be honest with u dude the best help ur going to get on this type of situation would be to call EA helpline..they will talk u through step by step in setting up ur booster packs..then if it doesnt work they will have to send u out a replacement cd and key
