7900gs on crysis [Archive] - Total Gaming Network

I was once told that my system would handle crysis on med-high settings on a 1024x768 res, but after downloading the demo i'm not so sure.

Here is my system:

7900gs
1 gig ram pc3200
AMD athlon 4200 X2

Now I know this system will not, but I just ordered another gig from newegg and I am wondering if after that I will be able to run crysis on med-high.

It might run well (30fps) at all low, 320x240.

I tried it the other day with just the one 7900gtx and it ran pretty well, some on high particles and shadow on medium.

Gonna give it a try in sli in a bit with split frame rendering.

you should be able to run it on medium with 1024 resolution with no problems.

Replies are appreciated, but frustrating. These contradicting comments only make me more confused, please someone offer some sort of evidence backing up their opinion.

Download the latest drivers from nvidia. In nvidia control panel ensure that any graphical settings are applicaiton controlled in the crysis.exe configuration.

All you need is 2 gigs of ram to run it on medium on 1024 res with good framerates. 2 gigs of ram helps on big maps like those in crysis :)

If you got xp you need 2 gigs of RAM, I got a 8600gt and it runs medium to high on 1400x900 smooth, so i'd say you'd run good on medium.

Ram is possibly the best thing crysis likes. I went from 2 gigs in xp to 4 gigs in 64 vista and saw a huge improvement even with higher graphic settings in Vista.
AKA Very high in vista 64 ran better than high in xp. Crysis likes ram for sure.

I just wanted to let you guys know that I got the ram and it worked great, I'm running the demo great on medium settings. Some even high:)

I have vista 32, 7900GS, 2gigs of ram and intel core 2 duo 6400 @ 2.13GHZ x2, i run the demo on everything medium except shaders (low) and i get around 25fps...im holding up on buying crysis to see if its worth getting. As shaders on low = gay

so im wondering what performence did you get.

you know, your reply will probably influence my purchese.
