Total Gaming Network goes Social?

What does that mean? Well, now that the forums have merged and we have only one signature, it is kinda hard to 'represent' as we used to.

I propose that Total embraces aspects of Social Networking sites like Facebook and MySpace.

Things are changing with the merger of the individual sites into one umbrella mega-site. Since we are changing, lets deal with what we are now lacking because of the change.

I'm talking about being able to post stats sigs and other graphics and text which were game specific. That seems to be no longer possible. Our avatars also are shared vs. being custom per game forum.

I understand the reasons why. I actually like it better this way. I do have a suggestion for improvement, though.

Gamers need a way to represent who we are and what we do. This could be linked to from our posts. It's part of our ego and desire to connect with others... and pwn them.

Think of this request as an upgrade to the existing Profile. This upgrade give basic publishing rights to one page which is essentially a blog-like page only more limited.

On this page could be a templated layout providing the registered network member a way to post images and text in a manner in which he then might share and connect with others on the network.

We'd want to show:

gamertag (per game)
alias list
large avatar (250 x 250)
contact info
clan/community info
favorite game
favorite game server(s)
and much more...
(...widgets like on iGoogle)Think of this as Gamer Social Networking. You are already doing it here. But, there is another level beyond that. There is also ad revenue there, too. ;)
