Sup yo I recently got my new computer in. Specs are below:
Monitor: 1680 x 1050 / 2ms response time / 3000:1 contrast ratio
Processor: Intel Quad Core Q6600 4x 2.4ghz
Video Card: Geforce 8800GTS (640MB) - EVGA
Memory - 2gigs
Operating System - Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit
When I run it on all medium settings at 1680 x 1050 with no AA. it runs smooth as butter
But when I turn it on all high settings at 1680 x 1050 with no AA it runs smooth as sand paper.
And that isn't even on any Ultra High settings. Also I have latest video card drivers. (BETA ones released by nvidia)
FYI: I thought I would atleast be able to run it on all high atleast with no prob and I knew I wouldn't be able to get ultra high but come on I can only get medium with this computer and it's a very high end computer?

Your card cant handle that high of a resolution.

But.. it's the best card out there -.-... except for the GTX which isnt THAT MUCH of a diffrence so what's the catch? unless you mean I need 2 8800's just to run at high..

no its not a good card that high of rez, get the 8800 GT its WAY better than that, and it performs as well as a GTX and overall is about 4 % less performance than it

There is also word of some serious performance issues when running Vista. Two exact system set-ups one with XP one with Vista and the XP machine will run Crysis maxed out where as the Vista box chokes.

But he's right. My Vista machine (8800 gtx) only gets about 50 more fps on W:ET than my old Dell did. I do get 20fps all on very high though.

No buts about it, if it is going to tank my system then I won't use it.
I will stick with XP at least until the first service pack is released, if not longer. Personally, I'm waiting for SP3 for XP that is due out sometime towards the middle of 2008. It is suppose to be adding some of the "fun" features of Vista without all the BS, system crashes and unsupported peripherals. With a bit of luck they will include DX10 support.
