Well I decided to make a vid of me sniping with the Dragunov due to people saying the hit detection is off etc...you can still get kills with it. It's mostly luck, but getting a feel to the sway of the snipers help get kills too. I show you hits(and misses)(and some XTREMEBBQ headshots :D) in the vid if you're interested.

The song is from WrestleMania 23 btw :)

No I'm JK if you didn't read all the whiny threads at charlieoscardelta.com then I guess I'll tell you. The hit detection IS WAY OFF. You're lucky if you hit a guy while holding your breath and he's AFK...

Yea the hit detection is rather whack, and the maps aren't very sniper friendly

Nice vid. I would personally be fine if holding your breath made your crosshairs almost instantly steady, because right now snipers seem pretty nerfed.

The r700 is just like the other bolts, it decides when it wants to hit.

I hope it gets fixed... I'll update post after i watch the video.

There is something really wrong with the snipers... It seems bit random to hit someone even if your crosshair is dead center...

There are many variables that change the how snipers work.

Like in the "All Ghilled up" mission.

I played that mission today(still stuck in the extraction part of it). I noticed that you could hit what you wanted.

Enemies runnin - easy to hit/kill
Enemies roping down from helo - easy to hit/kill
etc...

But in mp, it feels bit random to hit anything, dead center of stationary enemy and you can miss..

But after playing for the past few hours again. I have a feelin that ping/lag has something to do with the hittin...

I was in that server what has 2000 point limit, everyone inside had under 100 ping. I started out with the SVD, and i could hit lot more enemies than usually...

The sniper rifles arn't that hard to use in MP, infind it pretty simple to kill with them. I think that the difficulty is there to make it a little fairer as most of the sniper rifles are pretty powerful. Holding your breath does help alot though and you do need to aim off a little depending on where your enemy is, which is think it cool. :D

All you have to do is hold your breath at least a second or two before you fire. If you use the iron lungs perk, it is unstoppable.

Well i just played using a sniper rifle after reading some tips. The hit reg doesn't seem off at to me if you use them right. Hold breath for 1-2 secs, shoot and kill. Worked every time. Although if i held it for half a second and shot it would miss, same with trying to "twitch" shoot it.

Yeah, the snipers are ok, but sometimes you'll notice a bullet that you shot dead center into someone's head will miss.

if u hold ur breath like 1sec before shooting u always get a hit... The sniper isnt bugged... ull just have to learn how to handle it! ;)

Good editing / music, but the shots aren't so good. I'm not saying it's bad, just not my taste, I'm more of a one shot one kill on sniper vs sniper duel.

I had fun today dueling against sniper... We took turns killing eachother...

He shot me, i respawned and changed location, i shot him and so on..

This went on for the whole 2000 point round.. :D

Im using the r700(again) right now..

I gotta get around 50 headshots with it to get the challenge completed. After that is the SVD and .50cal(when i get it)...

I love this, did that a few days ago.

Side:USMC
Weapon: M14+ACOG, M1911, Bandolier (I always that that), stopping power, deep impact.

Lasted for a 750 point round, with 16 people, twas nice, and just as you said, we took turns :p

I just love those sniper wars... We didn't have anyone else(other players) bothering us much. So it was all sniper war going :)

Too bad that those are kinda rare things to happen.

I was playing earlier, and killed the same 3 snipers like 10 times(total), and they had no idea where i was. And i wasn't in anykind of uber hiding spot, i was shooting from a big first floor window...

There are also a few sniper only servers that are modded, pretty fun for practicing sniper vs. sniper, but not for becoming a better sniper.

I'm noticing the M40 to be dead on accurate and low recoil. So, definitely the M40 over the others.

At least in hardcore where the Barret is impractical due to recoil when the SVD and M21 have the same accuracy, and the R700 due to the M40 being more accurate and still a 1 hit kill...
