So I thought i'd offer some intel for another possible insurgency game mode map, inspired by the book ""Sniper One". It's in the city of Al Amarah. The difference between it and AL Basrah is it kind of combines NVCP/airport making the British UCP completely surrounded by the insurgency. Also it could work with all vehicles that exist in game allready - challenger 2's, Warriors, Landy's (saxons would be better though), & Zodiac's - in the book they do have CAS on two occasions but it's 2 c130's first & f-16's second so maybe an appache would be a compromise?.. Ok here Goes..
AL Amarah
Ok it's pretty flat terrain, consisting of nothing but one / two storey mud huts / slums full of rubbish & wrecks of military (from the Gulf war) and civillian vehicles - the river Tigres flows through the city and forks.

This is a former base of somekind to the north of the british UCP which had been totally destroyed in the last gulf war though a few wrecked structures still remain, the op4 would launch mortar attacks from it, not possible in PR, but could be a site with ammo caches for sure..

for the purpose of the mod I reckon that the insurgents UCP would be somewhere s/e of the second round-a-bout east of the Tigres in the above image, the other roundabout west of the river could be a controllable Flag like VCP in AL Basrah, I think this is a key aera of the map

Because of the water tower / swimming pool i'm pretty sure this is where the British are based, the buildings have beem fortified of course with sanagers guarding entrances, the square roof you can see has been surrounded by sandbags and because of it's elevated position gives clear views out over the map, it should spawn warriors and jeeps nothing else.
4 - I think this aera could basically be a hugh market kind of place
5 - is just all slums / housing -
6 - I think the British should have some tanks and warriors & apache spawn somewhere here at another UCP - as a british support column comes into the city to give back up in the novel. I love insurgency in PR but a new map would be sweet! also judging by the book should be lots of RPG's because of the high amount of warriors / tanks..
Also I highly recommend the book Sniper one! great read alltogether! maybe this will inspire those who make maps to do something with the intel
