I just heard this from a FilePlanet employee after complaining that I paid and didn't receive the beta even though it never said that only a few would be accepted (a completely justified complaint):

I just got a key of Planet battlefield’s last contest I wish I hadn't subscribed now. Oh well at least it means I don’t have to camp the Fp site as I never got into the pre registration

either 12pm Noon PDT or CDT. PDT because it's EA who calls the shots, CDT because File Planet seems to be based on Central time.

They'll work it out between themselves and it should be at either one of those times.

Don't worry to much if you don't get you're key in the email the open beta should start about a week after this one so you should get it that way atleast.

your probably wrong betas are always being patched left and right just about every day to every week just like COH...i think there were about 8 patches just in the 2-3 weeks it was out.

I got an email last week saying that I missed the first round but since I was getting that email I was guaranteed a key for the second round...so yes the emails sent tomorrow(today, whenever) will have the key as long as you signed up in time. Don't know if that means people who signed up yesterday or today will get one.

To be honest you did, all you will get for your 15 bucks is the Beta 1-2 weeks early.

The OPEN beta should start in 1-2 weeks which everyone can DL and play.

Also today they are going to reopen registration for the remainder of the keys (after the guaranteed slots have been distributed) on a "first come first served" basis. So I'd keep an eye on FP's website and be ready to refresh lots.

And if you do not get in you haven't exactly paid your $15 subscription for nothing, you still have subscriber access to their site and I've found that their DL manager is fast for other stuff so when EA DiCE finally get off their collective arses and release the 1.4 patch you'll be able to download it quickly.

Last week, most of the VIP people who didn not have a FP account were limited to 100kb/sec. Those with full FP access got full speeds.

As long as you have a FP account you do not need the download manager to get uncapped speeds. The only benefit of the download manager is that you can restart interupted downloads which is handy with big files.

Exactly. Those without FP accounts should use the Download Manager rather than having a wife/child/girlfriend/cat accidentally close your browser during the 4 hours it'll probably take to download :)

stay on all day today constintley checking fileplanet...you will need to register while the keys last as they are on a first come first serve basis if you didnt get a reserved slot for the beta second round.

o yes, also, keep in mind that it's gonna take a while for all of the keys to get sent out. they send them out in series, not big batches, meaning they have to wait for each separate email to send before sending another, so you won't get them instantly. you might have to wait up to an hour to get your's (highly doubtful though, since it was only open for like 24 hours)

T1 download speed is about 1450Kbps after overhead, so a 1 gig file would take you about an hour and a half. Many home DSL connections (downstream) are faster. Now, if you had an OC-12 connection, you're talking like 13 seconds.

You will only be able to download it as fast as they will send it to you. It doesnt matter if you have a 5billion mbps connection.

Just because I'm 16 doesn't mean I'm some little kid, I wasn't lieing about it I got my key from reserving my slot last week and others have started getting theirs to.
