The guys over at Game UK (http://www.game.co.uk) have given us a possible insight into the release date of Battlefield 3, the latest addition to the popular Battlefield franchise. The site claims the game will be available for purchase in 98 days, although details on prices and content are still unavailable.

Be sure to check it out for yourselves here! (http://www.game.co.uk/PC/Action/~r333421/Battlefield-3/)

The recent advertising of community manager positions in DICE (http://www.dice.se/) also acts as proof that we will soon be tearing round the battlefield again!

Stay tuned for the latest news!

Update:

Game UK (http://www.game.co.uk) has now released the price for Battlefield 3 (£34.99/$69.98) and has made it available for pre-release purchase.

The release date stays the same, but despite no official word from EA, it still looks likely we will see the new addition before Christmas.

I don't know, haven't we seen that kind of tactic used before?
Offer the game for sale without having any idea when it will be released, just to sucker people into pre-ordering.

This is true, but with all the recent things happening it does point to BF3 coming out, I doubt the release date is correct but its only a rumor untill anything offical is said by EA/Dice.

I guess only time will tell. However, i have no desire to buy another Battlefield Console Game, not after Modern Combat.

now you're just digging and hoping there's a problem:rolleyes:
if they have it on it's own page im sure they got it right, they're like the biggest gaming store in the UK.
and anyway, who said they were coming out on the same day? it simply says 90 odd days until you can pre-order it, not actually get it.

It will be a good game as long as they don't screw it up with "Stats" again... the mod community tore hell with doing anything or even keeping alot of interest with BF2 mods.

I'm afraid to tell you, the Battlefield series will always have stats.

Not really, what I've seen with COD4 for instance is they put it in to that game but its saved client side and you end to the top rather quickly. At the very least the master server picks up on changes from anyone making a server of the game therefore reporting or not reporting...unlike BF2/2142 that required this trusted server provider sign off or the "Ranked" server providers which over charged from the get go. Why else do you see MyIS renting server instances of BF2 for less than 95cents a slot now, the game is dying off. Those that paid 4$/slot when the game first came out and cornered the player traffic quickly may stay up for a while longer and be populated. With this type of setup you kill the mods or possibilities for players to play to WIN and not the pretty little medals or you pretty much kill the ability for Clans to build without working two jobs to donate to a over priced server.

TF2 has a nice, simple stat tracking system, but it yields no rewards (eg. no unlocks). The stats also track on 'custom' maps or servers with tweaked rules (eg. instant respawn). IMO the unlocks aren't that great of an idea, it'd be nice if they just gave you all the weapons right from the get-go. It won't make the game any less fun... So what if a noob gets the best gun right away? They don't know how to use it very well and the guns are mostly "situational", eg. the voss sucks at long range vs. the baur, the krylov/scar is a great in-between gun, etc.

They should keep all the rewards and everything but remove the need to unlock equipment. Reward more hardcore players with 'useless' stuff like... emotes? I dunno, but not something that gives them an advantage.

Updated Info.

If anyone does pre-purchase it, tell me how it goes and any updates. It'll be interesting to see what happens since there is yet no official announcement.

Im sure there will be another Battlefield for the PC, as for that release date, I very much doubt it, seems a little strange that we haven't heard anything at all a couple of months before release, we saw snippets of 2142 in March and that was released in October, so they were hyping that up for 7 months before release.

We will just have to wait and see, I have loved every Battlefield game, so im sure that the next one wont dissapoint :)

Dont u have ranked and non ranked??

lets hope not.... :shakehead

If they do, then I hope they follow Infinity ward and how anyone could host a "Ranked" server as long as you didn't mod certain files...otherwise greed and the all mighty $$ will win again with only certain providers being able to do them thus charging you a arm and leg to rent a over used box with a single instance of the game out of maybe 10 at one time. :hmm:
