Membership Benefits:
-Full members have access to our Game Servers, TeamSpeak server, Ventrillo server, Forums, Website, Competitive Teams, and have voting privileges.
-Many of our members do not play competitively by their own choice. We do offer several competitive teams to those that do wish to play competitively at various levels. We are currently in CAL season 1 and looking to compete in TWL and TGL as well.
-Donating members gain console access to the gaming servers.
Membership Requirements:
-We do have an age requirement though we have made exceptions for exceptionally mature individuals.
-We do not require membership dues, but we strongly encourage monthly donations for our servers.
-Membership is considered solely on personality. Talent level matters little. We want people who’s company we enjoy. Thankfully, many of those who fit that criteria have also turned out to be excellent players.
Competitive Teams:
The 6thAD has fielded teams in BF2 CAL Main 8v8, CAL Open 8v8, TWL 5v5, TWL 8v8, TWL 12v12, TWL 15v15, and TGL 8v8. We have won championships in TWL and TGL while making the both CAL Main and CAL Open playoffs. We also participate in TWL ladders and are generally found in the top 10. We often run several teams concurrently.
Some of our teams require a high degree of skill and, more importantly, dedication while others require far less. Competitively, we have something for everyone.
Clan Environment:
6thAD membership varies widely. We tend to be an older clan (as clans go) and thus many of our members are professionals by day. The clan is run as a representative democracy with a leadership and general staff running day to day operations (website, servers, etc.). Thus, this clan is one of the oldest and most stable around.
Many, if not most, of our members simply enjoy pubbing while others are hardcore competitive players. We offer something for just about everyone.
Clan History and Present Status:
The clan is four and a half years old and was founded in February 2003. As with many clans, it was founded by a group of friends who wanted to do things differently. This desire eventually lead to our present (unique among clans), form of leadership in which an elected group takes care of day to day operation while larger issues are put to full clan votes in which every member may participate. Over time, the clan has grown to more than 60 members.
Originally, the clan was founded as a Battlefield 1942 gaming clan. Members have actively participated in all subsequent releases in the Battlefield series and several mods.
Currently, we are looking at new games for the clan and may end up supporting several different games including TeamFortress2 and Frontlines. More than a dozen members are currently playing TF2 and we have recently purchased a Public Server
(66.135.38.106:27015).
What We Do Not Want:
-Clan hoppers. If you tend to roam from team to team every couple months, please look elsewhere.
-Drama Queens. We are just too established for that.
-Children
-Cheaters. If we find anyone cheating in any online game, they are gone. Our server, another server, it does not matter. We check our own servers and we get very good cooperation from the various leagues.
Who We DO Want:
YOU, if you love online PC games and tend to get along well with others. You do not need to bring elite gaming skills, because those will develop, but you do need to bring elite social skills. We are all about having fun and owning the opposition whether we are in a championship or abusing noobs.
