The team behind the Battlefield Podcast (http://www.battlefieldpodcast.com/) site have released episode 80 of their series today. This new episode discusses Battlefield Heroes. Here's what they had to say:

Welcome to the mother of all episodes! Clocking in at over an hour and a half, we tear into the newly announced next iteration in the Battlefield franchise, Battlefield Heroes. There’s lots to discuss with still few facts known, lots of speculation, not to mention a whole new business model: free game supported by ads and micro-transactions.

There’s so much to talk about Battlefield Heroes that there’s hardly enough time to discuss some viewer questions such as whether ESRB game ratings are actually being followed at sale and why we need them. To round off the show we watch Frost Episode 3, a 30+ minutes monster of hilarity.

sounds pretty good, i can tell it will definitely be very different from the usual BF style but it will attract lots of new people and even old BF vets but i think the real cake is coming with BF3. i think of this game kinda like battlefield Vietnam, its part of the franchise but not really THE next battlefield.

It's a third person game. Third person = fail.

Should be back today or tomorrow... DNS is updating.

And I read it's not just 3rd person but also 1st...

I actually like the game sounds pretty awesome to me, But like others have said its just another game in the battlefield series, and I think the big thing will be bf3.

this game supports 3rd person AND 1st person, so in that aspect its only a fail if you want to. :)
