The Forgotten Hope 2 (http://forgottenhope.bf1942files.com/main.php?module=&lang=english&flash=yes&mod=) mod team is back today after a month or so with a new update. Take a look:

Hello and welcome back to another update of Forgotten Hope 2. We've gone without news for a while now since the release, but today we have a large update to make up for it. Let's begin by introducing the three new developers who have joined Forgotten Hope the last few weeks. First, we have Gunnie, who will be working as a coder. Next we have Fenring, who will be mapping. And last but not least we have Remdul, who will be helping us with pretty much everything.

Now then, on to the actual update. We're proud to present the next theater of war Forgotten Hope 2 will be visiting. There was quite some discussion about which stage of the war to go to next - on the public forums as well as on the developer forums, but we've finally agreed on our next theater and we hope you are as excited about it as we are. So, without further ado, the next theater of war for Forgotten Hope 2 is Normandy 1944.

Of course, no update would be complete without screenshots or renders, so here we have the first vehicle done for the Normandy campaign; the Panzerkampfwagen V 'Panther' by Toddel and Knoffhoff.

Awesome, good luck! It looks like Company of Heroes in FPS already. Panther for the sex.
This is my favourite part of WWII and I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks so.

As long as we can do a saving private ryan on the beaches, getting sniped in the landing crafts, It'll be awesome.

When you say Normandy, do you include Carentan with that?

Carentan is in Normandy and was an important battle, so I would say so. But I am no dev. There are plenty of good locations to choose from hey?

Looks great. I wonder how long we shall have to patiently wait...another update next week anyway.

Good thing they're working on new content rather than a hot fix to take care of the constant CTD's. Now we'll have new tanks to be driving when we CTD.

Never had a CTD with FH2 and i play it a lot.

Also this should bring back a lot of players :) great work and keep going!

As per the FH2 website

"For our first patch to Forgotten Hope 2 we've got a lot of bugfixes ready, but we'll also add more vehicles, more weapons and more maps. Though I can tell you we have at least 2 maps planned for the first patch, I'll leave the details of those for a future update."

I'm really happy to hear that FH2 is invading Normandy. In my opinion, a North African setting didn't do the mod justice, and I personally couldn't really get into it.

I'd be willing to bet more player CTD in FH2 than don't. Maps changes and tanks seem to be common factors that lead to CTD's.

The Insurgency (mod for Source games) mod team made the mistake of not releasing a hotfix immediately after their first release to take care of their CTD's and it really killed that mod.

Did you not read the update? They are working on a patch as well....

Hotfixes should be released within a couple weeks, max, from the problem patch. It's been a lot longer than that.

I love the mod, but the CTD's have kept me away because it's such a hassle loading up again after it CTD's.

Great news!
By the way.. The two Kattenkrads are sharing the same license plate.. Should have been impossible during Hitler-era!

Several trusted servers have been receiving server side fixes. But to be honest the amount of CTDs I have is not higher than in vanilla and I've played hundreds of hours as beta tester and after it was released.

A hotfix is only necessary when there are large scale and severe errors otherwise you'll only be confusing the userbase.

Sadly, you are mistaken. At the time of this writing, there are 21,000 people playing BF2 around the world.

lol, some doctor you are :p

At the moment the Xfire top 10 games is not working, but when it is working you will find that BF2 is around the 5th most played game, still 3 or so years after its released, its hardly dead.
