For some reason I'm having a hard time believing this game would have trouble running on my system. Following Specs:
OS: Vista
Graphics Processor: Dual 1GB ATI® Radeon™ HD 2900 XT - CrossFire Enabled
Processor: Intel® Core™ 2 Extreme QX9650 3.0GHz 12MB Cache 1333MHz FSB - Over-clocked to 4.0 GHz
Memory: 4GB Low Latency Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz - 2 x 2048MB
I'm only playing the demo currently but it should probably run fine on VERY HIGH? No?

No, no computer currently can play extra high. Your probably looking at medium at 1280x1024, maybe a smidgen of AA (2x at the most), but probably not.

I think medium - high, no AA with a higher resolution...
I think you were expecting too much from your PC to run it on MAX when theres (maybe) no PC that can run it on MAX with the hidden DX10 content which was locked cause no one would be able to run it on those settings...

It barely runs on High @ 1920 x 1080

I know, you shouldn't expect it to. You might just be able to with 3x8800Ultra's, but that's about it.
Your going to be running medium at best.

Hmm. I would have thought two 2900 XTs would be able to handle it.

Well, you'd be wrong.
2900 aren't even that good a card.

Hrrmm, easy there Alex. Duke, unfortunately the 2900 XT's are neither the most powerful nor efficient cards. And, while the rest of your system is indeed impressive, there is not a single or dual card solution yet released that can play Crysis at that resolution at max settings.

This how you treat all former customers?

Thanks for the informative post.

I wasn't aware.
Anyway, it'll be a while before we get a graphics card capable of playing Crysis on high/ultra high at 1900x1200 style resolutions.
The crazy thing is that the developers say there are ways to improve the graphics even further when computers can cope with it.

its a game made for next gen hardware so it doesnt go outdated in the next 6 months.. smart marketing idea i guess.. but alot of ppl ar pssd lol

I found this funny.
At this rate..i'd be amazed if crysis was maxed out with a "single card" solution at 60 fps before 2011,at the earliest..

I understand the fact that I can't run this game at very high settings or a high resolution, but is it supposed to look like crap? I have it at 1280x1024 with mostly high settings, I set shadows to medium, and it looks worse than UT3 and not much better than BF2. And I still only got ~40 FPS before 1.2. After 1.2 it still looks bad and my framerate has been just about halved. Drops to 15 when one KPA starts shooting at me. ARRGGGGG!!!

2011? You greatly underestimate the rate at which technology advances, by then it wouldn't surprise me if Crysis graphics are getting old by then. BF2's are old now...
(Although from a dev view they were never impressive tbh lol)
