Ideas for unlocks that increase annoyance and disability to opposing team without the need for killing them:

recon: haven't thought of anything yet.

assault: taser-defib that has been discussed on the board.

engineer: an ADS neutralizing mine that will stick to enemy vehicles and negates attempt to engage ADS for once per mine.

support: EMP nades that shoot out from RDX shooty like rifle grenades.

Thoughts?

Whats the point in the AD Mine? A couple of motion mines would be better, gets the job done WITHOUT having to fire a shot.

Say, for example, you just capped a silo in a walker, and hear it from the commander that an enemy walker is coming. So you jump out and put some AD mines then mine the entrance with MMs near the silo. After that, you "walker" away to some nearby ambush position. Enemy walker comes, gets warning of your MMs. AA gunner jumps out and toss a couple MMBs. Then carrying on to cap the silo, but get AD mines stuck on the walker. You appear from ambush position, they fire rockets, you fire rockets, but when they press 'x', nothing happens. So you just proceed and destroy the walker while your ADS is fully engaged then hunt down the other guy like a T-rex.

That's just an idea, and it may or may not work. I believe that there are people who have ideas as well. DICE has so far pretty good record of keeping an eye on what community feeds back to them. So, if they are working at a "something exciting," then why not save their time contributing ideas?

weapons? vehicles? Sometimes I hope that I can bring G3 to 2142....

camoflage nets would be awesome. just like sandbags. we have nine useble numkeys why not use them dice? give us another wapons for a specific class that is alocated with nr 9.

EMP mine disables more than sentary guns, like RDX and APM mines.

so simply put...
engineer: a device that protects your vehicles from all motion mines
support: an emp grenade launcher


id give the assaults hand thrown emp grenades that are time delayed, unlike the detonate on impact emp grenades that supports get

and recons can get a targetting laser or some device that basically causes the vehicle or infantry designated to receive 50% more damage from any friendly attack, ranging from sniper to tank shell, missiles, even pistol

how is that for annoying, overpowered and totally not going to ever be implemented?

Some good ideas there! One possibility for the recon class could be a laser-designator type device, that allowed engineers in his squad to pretty much fire and forget with their missile-based weapons.

So long as the recon guy kept the target painted - he could guide the missile's flight to the target while the engineer himself could be reloading or taking cover. He would have to have some severe penalty for using it - such as simply moving would break the lock, but it would be an interesting addition.

A prime weapon system for abuse, but I think you get my drift. ;)

I think if they could develop two-man weapons systems in the next BF - that would really add to the gameplay. Say a fixed MG position, AT launcher or even mortar that needed two people for it to function.

it can take up the main weapon slot so that the recon using it can only defend himself with his rdx or apms and a pistol

edit i forgot about handgrenades or sl gun drone

they already made a two man weapons system. Its called vehicles

and teamwork

Maybe. But for the most part, only the gunship seems to act as a 'proper' 2-man crew. How many times have you tried to sneak up on the rear of a walker or tank while driving your own tank - and some idiot on top gives the game away and starts firing?

^^^^ - looks good! Would that main weapon be similar to a Rorsche (sp?) or something?

I thought some while back, that it would be great if they made recon, light and heavy (or assault) versions of the APC, tank and walker. Add some proper armour roles into the mix, then. :yay:

EMP-launching shotgun? What's wrong with just throwing them? :s I think another EMP unlock for support would be EMP overkill tbh, just like how assault has 2 smoke grenades... I know one is radar and all but c'mon.... I rarely see them being used EFFECTIVELY in the first place.

im thinking about taking smoke nades with me. so if we are passing doorways that have locked down the enemies cant see us. now i hope i can get an unlock for a smart squad. i think all the second seats except gunship should get an extra wapon(maybe everything tvm) then you would have more teamplay in vehicles.

yeh that sounds good but ea are not going to do it because they have compltly forgot about bf2142 and moved on to bf bad company and BF3 in development.

the only way to stop the ids is to find and shoot it. listen for the sound it makes, it get louder the closer you get to it.

as for a unlock a mirror for peaking around corners

Use the ghost. That infantry scanner is brutal on titan D. If the enemy has that, a shotgun and a ping of less than 50, you're basically screwed on titan O. If you bring the ghost with you tho, and place it on the top of the titan, you show up in the same spot all the time, giving you the drop on Mr. Shotty.

just think game should have counter for everything in game. poor guys just
starting to play, bought ns still cant unlock ids since its a fourth level unlock.
dont get me wrong, i love to use it, but i can only get it by field upgrades,
i choose not to purchase ns ( not that i cant afford it ), just think game balance is thrown off if you dont. smart move for ea, they should have let special forces toys been used in bf2. thanks to everyone for the input.

well, it doesnt take long to get through the ranks and get unlocks. i joined last week and now im already a lance corporal silver. and the NS unlocks arent extreme. if it was a NS unlock that was really good, then i would.... no....i still wouldnt object. the game is about adapt and survive. if you cant do that, you arent fit for this game. i adapted, most of us adapted, why cant others?

i made these posts for new people to the game, nothing more.
if you want an edge in the game, unlock the ids-1, ns. the only counter for it
is to have it yourself, so after you get 4 or 5 purple hearts, you might ask yourself, think they got it. but if you think your that good, dont unlock it.
