The staff at the Total Gaming Network recently contacted the development team of Project Reality (http://www.realitymod.com) regarding conducting an interview. Graciously, they accepted our proposal to conduct a community interview with them.

But what is a community interview? In a normal interview, the staff here at TGN would generate a list of questions, send them off to the developers, and wait for a response. The problem with these normal types of interviews, however, is the fact that they often times do not address what the community wants to know. In a community interview, we ask questions submitted by you, the community member. Therefore, we are collecting thought-provoking and well conceived questions to submit to the Project Reality team. Credit will be given to the author of accepted questions, so you have a chance to get your name in lights.

To submit a question, reply to this topic (http://totalgamingnetwork.com/main/showthread.php?p=1885356). Members may submit any number of questions, but most likely, not all will be used in the final interview.

My question:

Your mod has always been one of realism, but it is built from a game that has always been one of balance. I can't imagine how hard it has been to make this change. But you also need to know what you need to change. So on to my question, what type of resources have you had to tap into in order to get the information to make your game realistic? Because you obviously can't just put something into the game and say its realistic, you have to know its realistic, or someone would just e-mail you and say something.

its because in real life, there are usually only a few certain amount of special classes in combat such as snipers or spec ops. not everyone is a sniper. kit requests help enforce that.

my question:

what future engine/game is PR going to move onto when BF2 becomes really obselete.

Will there ever be a two+ seater aircraft (not helicopter) where each person has a special ablity? If so, which vehicle and what special ability (say, the F-15 pilot can drop LGBs, and the gunner can lase the target? Or an EA-6 where a 1st pilot flies it and drops LGBs (SDBs are the only economical weapon), 1st WSO operates radar that picks up enemy SAMs and other radar sources and jams incoming enemy missiles (simply point your crosshair at one and hold the jammer on target for a second while clicking and then the missile will be blinded - just look for trails of smoke), 2nd WSO Lases targets, and 3rd WSO fires HARM missiles (these seek enemy radiation sources and although are very fast, are not very maneuverable [they have splash damage as a result of the phosphorus burst though so don't hide behind a SAM vehicle] and as a result S**K as AAMs that aren't delivered from close range).

This plane would be the epitome of teamwork - you need 4 guys to operate it, but once it's in the air, it will leave a huge battlefield footprint.

Why haven't the top competition leagues around the world embraced PR? Why don't we see a TGL sanctioned PR tournament?

The requester isn't always the best gamer for the position....that's why people have always questioned it. Just because you are first to request it doesn't make you the right person for the job. I've seen plenty of horrible snipers, etc,. that should have never been given the weapon let alone the server IP lol.

This is not a discussion topic. Please only post questions here.

How many of your military advisors have actually seen combat? And if so, what AOR have they been deployed to and in what capacity?

Well, we're getting toward the last few days to get questions in, so if you have any further things you've ever wanted to know about PR or its developers, ask now!

1.are you looking into more objective based gamemodes rather than the normal CTF ?

2. how are the community factions (if DEV's find them of high standard)going to be added into PR , even at 1 map per faction it would increase the file to a very large amount ?

My Question

How did Project Reality start out?
Were you just playing BF2, being killed rapidly within 50 second periods and thought to yourself "well screw this" and started the heavenly coding that makes PR?
