Suicide. Or blaze of glory?

It struck me as quite odd the other day when with the help of a PAC player in another tank, we fatally damaged the EU walker.

He immediately ran for cover between a group of rocks (that well known pile roughly half way and up slightly between Silo 1 and PAC base on Suez). Circling around the rocks to get a better shot, he immediately commited suicide.

Clearly, even playing as an engi - he would have no chance against two tanks stalking him. But I just found it strange. Was he really that determined not to hand me or the other player points, simply because we over-powered his walker?

I never, ever willingly commit hari-kari. I've done some proper noob stuff like not opening my parachute and stuff, in my time. But even if there was no hope for me, I'd still charge the opposition.

D:salute:efinatley go out like a man lol. If he had half a brain he would of set a trap for both ya and came out the victor. Always have a plan b and think 2 steps ahead. I have taken out 2 tanks stalking me before because of the simple arrogance and beleiving they have the advantage. i hide behind rocks set out motion mines both sides while shooting the tanks with my pilum. Once they circled to take their shot it was to late for them Boom!!! baby. But back to your question i would if no other chance for survival just take it like a man lol. Its only a game. have a good one and good hunting all.

maybe his walker got stuck into the rocks and made that blow up his walker. or he got crushed whilst trieing to get out of the walker. both result into a suicide not in the left corner text. i dont know if it gives you a -2 for commitiing suicide

nor it has rocks to hide himself for 2 enemie tanks(there are only 2 tanks) so just take the map as a mistake. we all once were newbs.

Nope - he legged it - a good 50ft+ to the cover of the rocks. His walker was badly smoking by the time he bailed out.

It does indeed. In conquest mode. Not sure if it's on all the 16, 32 and 64 player maps - but the server I was playing on was the 64-player map with 24 players, iirc.

It does indeed. :) Walk/drive down the ramp from the uncap PAC base in the lower right-hand corner and turn right approx 45 degrees. A few hundred yards on (as if you're heading to silo 3 in titan mode) there is a cluster of large boulders close together. This is where the bloke hid for a few seconds and then crumpled after neither of us tank pilots fired. It just said "xxxxxx is no more"

He soon came back with avengeance with another walker though!

Had a similar thing happen to me a while ago. I was having a blast on a Gibraltar server, so I charged right onto a grup of 3 enemies with the knife. Got the first one without any trouble, I got the second one just as he turned around... and just as I was about to get the 3rd one he did a jump backwards and he just died. No friendly was around so I had a look at the kill messages and it said "xxxx is no more".

Suicide macro? lol Or maybe he just exited the game or something, it was really odd anyway.

I never do suicide, if I accidentally get the wrong kit or weapon, I just go do something brave and when I get killed, well he just did me a favor as now I re spawn into the kit I wanted. I would rather go go down in a blaze of glory than take the chicken way out.

agreed. i was in my titan with the wrong kit, but didnt want to commit suicide, so i jumped off, trekked across the map until i found a few enemies who i ran in, guns blazing. i killed two of them, but some guy threw down RDX and killed me.
oh well.

I don't like it a bit either, but there is one situation where the only thing you can do is suicide if you want to help your team: when you're out in the middle of nowhere, discover that they're just about to get started blowing up consoles and there's no one there to stop them. Kill yourself quickly and respawn on Titan. I've done this 2-3 times only, but I've always managed to stop them after the second console is out.

Anyway that was my thought, if he does have an exit/join macro I bet his KDR is super high. :laugh:
