Are we going to lose some Bf2142 players?

Hey i was just wandering if with this new game that came out, front lines: fuel of war, will some of you get it and actually stop playing bf2142? I was actually think getting it, because it looks pretty freaking awsome, until i ran the '' can i run it '' test from http://www.systemrequirementslab.com and I figured that in the recommended specs i had a little leak on performance. But i think ill stick to bf2142 since now I have became a Ubersoldier killing machine and own all in my pass:ar15:.
ill prolly just get NS instead :D. what will you guys do?

I don't think so. i've got FFOW for the PC and it's pretty much a train wreck right now. Bugged all to hell and back, though people who've played it on PC and the 360 say on the 360 it's pretty good, at least.

But since 2142 is PC only, and FFOW on PC is problematic for people who bought it, I don't think there's going to be a great defection of players from 2142 to FFOW.

From what little I've seen, FFOW looks like it might be fun, but since the game locks up on the map loading 50% of the time, and 50% of the time after I DO actually manage to get in a game I hit the invisible boundary bug, I'm not thinking it's got much of a chance to unseat 2142 any time soon.

FFOW = T3H SUCK. People predicted that 2142 would lose all its players to ET:QW. That was wrong... Then they predicted that 2142 would lose all its players to CoD4. While it did take a blow when CoD4 came out, it didn't roll over and die. Then people predicted that Crysis would finish it off. lol.

FFOW is nothing but a cheap ripoff of 2142... And with bad graphics.

QFT. Also, I've seen on this board and many others guys who ramped all the way up in CoD4 and then came BACK to 2142 after the bloom was off the CoD4 rose.

Personally I like CoD4 a lot, but it's a different play experience from 2142. I find it's better for when I only have a little time to play... easier to get in and out of, and more of a straight-up shoot-kill-die repeat mayhem, vs. 2142's more involving squad play and map layouts.

But even now, there's no question that 2142 gets the lion's share of my gaming attention, and that hasn't changed since the day the game came out. I just wish DICE/EA could say the same. :cry:

Well I'd say the comparisions to 2142 are inevitable and certainly not unwarranted... but bad graphics? Visually it's pretty nice, IMO. Not really pushing what the UT3 engine can actually do, but still pretty nice looking. For as long as you can keep it from pulling a CTD on you, anyway. ;)

So true, personally I found it to be completely abysmal!

Nothing ever seems to come close enough to the Battlefield experience, nevermind surpass it!

I don't know if it's early days with the UT3 engine, but I've not been that impressed with either UT3 itself or Front Lines so far. UT3 in particular absolutely pails into insignificance against the older UT2004 - it just doesn't 'play' as well.

In recent times, COD4 has been the only FPS that has diverted my attention from 2142. But as good as that game is, I find infantry-only combat to get boring after a while. Titan Mode in 2142 is just a brilliant scenario and still remains my current favourite.

I see myself staying for quit some time as the new games exceed the abilities of my machine and 3 to $4000 for a gaming rig just isn't in the budget right now.
