Dedicated Server Files Info

A post on the Frontlines Community Forums (http://community.kaosstudios.com) by Mitch Gross, the Community Manager from Kaos Studios (www.kaosstudios.com), has said that the Dedicated Server build for Frontlines: Fuel of War may be ready tomorrow, Thursday April 3rd.

Looks like they will be ready tomorrow (Thursday) and we may run a final (public) test and will need your assistance. More info tomorrow!

In addition, the newest update on the Frontlines Status Page (status.kaosstudio.com) has said that they are testing the dedicated server build and want people to join their test servers.

We are currently running a test of the dedicated server software on the following servers. If you can join one of the games listed below, it would be of great help. Thanks!

Seeing as Kaos NEVER gives a date for ANYTHING, for them to say "Looks like they will be ready tomorrow (Thursday)", that's as good as them saying they WILL be out. Then again, I guess they didn't lie. The dedicated server files WERE ready yesterday. They just weren't given to the public. :)

We decided to run a final public test on the files to make sure they were good to go. We got some useful info and I'm waiting on the final word. Will post as soon as I hear something.

That would probably be a good idea because premature statements like that ruin their creditability even more.... ;)

Oh by the way it's now Friday and we still don't have the dedicated files.Still seems to me like this all should have been worked out before they released the game and took peoples money.

Sava is just like the rest of us that spend money to play and host servers for this stuff and I am sure just like me he is tired of all the misleading statements and getting the round around. So if he is jumping off his seat who could blame him....;)

RE does have some uses, it wasn't KAOS's fault the game had to be released in the state it was in.

Change the record would you? You don't like how it was released, okay great, good for you. There are people who do you know.......like the game? And I for one am tired of hearing the same crap over and over.

I'm a little tired of practically every thread on Total FFOW reading some irritating little comment from "your type" for lack of a better word, essentially I in fact really mean whiners who have nothing better to do on these forums than ***** and moan at the people that are trying to fix a mistake, bad judgement however you want to phrase it.

Ever wonder why everyone who "serves" the public is miserable?

I assume your minds are all flowing to the tune of "fan boi", honestly nope. I've barely played the full retail product, It's not that good in my opinion I guess I've just passed the whole "Battlefield genre" game by now. Vote with your feet not with your mouth of every second of every day in every thread :shakehead:

Are you some kind of corporate lackey? Just because you paid money for a game and think it works great for you doesn't mean that the game is NOT broken for other people. People paid for their right to moan...this isn't a mod, but by the looks of it, it can't even compare to it's own bloodline (Desert Combat). I like the game when I can play it.

And I agree with you that forum moaning results in nothing....but THQ nor KAOS will setup a bugtracker or some other kind of measurement tool so that real bug discovery backed up by hard data can be captured. the only method by which KAOS has to hear of bugs is by way of their community manager...which is one guy...Mitch. He is the filter/buffer.

Believe it or not, this community is pretty damn intelligent....this community fixed things in BF2 that DICE still hasn't fixed. One good example, the parallax mapping bug where sandbag walls wind up being shiny....the FH2 devs fixed that. DICE still hasn't fixed it. So given the right info and the right access, our community can fix things. I know people outside of KAOS that are fixing this game as we speak.
