You can't cloak for as long as you want, the cloak needs to recharge when the battery runs out.

Yea... I remember reading somewhere that the unlocked sniper rifle will kill in 1 shot if the target is wearing light armor.

Its definatly not a 1 shot with a standard sniper, not sure about the unlock.

You hardly ever saw people seeing light armour so if it is a 1 shot kill you cant use it much.

And the Camo doesnt last for ever, thats an old video, things change.

I hope its a no. then snipers would have a bad name.. the battlefield is pretty huge on 2142 and because they are nerfing the weapon sway they will hopefully be really good in a lot of situations.

But i wouldnt mind if they were a m95 or l8 with 1 more bar of dammage. anything to prevent this game from having sniper wh0res. because everyone knows that snipers can have a hard job and they shouldnt be looked down upon/ terribly cheap.

Arm or leg, I think not, even in real life a shot like that would just piss off your enemy, but a head shot, that should be insta-death (assuming the aimimg code they used makes it hard to pop off a head shot

obviously. a headshot should almost indefinately kill. but the whole one shot anywhere=death sounds kinda bad.

I certainly hope that headshot equals death in every sniper weapon. The unlockable sniper rifle kills light armoured troops in one shot, though.

Sniper can kill every infantry with a headshot . Light infantry can be killed with 1 shot in the chest, too, and mid armored can be killed with a chest shot with the unlock sniper. For the heavy infantry u need 2 shots or a headshot. (I read this on another bf2142 site)

The reason i've been saying it may be a one shot kill to the arm or leg is there is less armour there, i found this out testing on the beta using all sorts of rifles. A shot to the chest did less damage then on to pretty much anywhere else. If the Unlock does 90 dmg to a chest shot... (heavy armour) it was a potentially viable one shot kill to the arm/leg area. Obviously we need to test this in retail. I for one hope its not one shot kills to heavy armour on leg/arm but it maintains to be seen how hard it is to hit that area from long distance. We shall see.

I like this idea... most sniper rifles anyway would blow holes in people's legs and arms.... completely disabling them. But I bet a lot of people will complain when its overused like the awp in CSS.

The people in CS or CSS who ***** about the awp are usually the same people who can't gather a strategy beyond rushing into the awp's line of fire while doing a spray and pray hoping that the rifleman will die.

Its not as thick as the torso armour, and just below shins isn't even a hitbox or at least wasn't in beta, I tried for about 3 minutes straight to hit my buddies foot and it wasn't happening. Oh well, not that i was going to aim for their feet anyways.

But all i hope is that it's not like that in 2142. It would give bf2 to 2142 snipers a good name

From all the diffrent post and articles I can conclude somthing like this as of beta, nobody knows how it will be upon release:

The unlock sniper rilfe does 100 base damage per shot so it can kill a light armor person in 1 shot, but if you have heavy armor you will live thru it so it takes 2 shots.

However its not even close to overpowered because of the sway, and other factors not to mention the unlock rifle only has a 3 round clip!!! if your not really good at being a sniper and miss that 1 shot, you have 2 rounds left to kill a heavy armor person and if you dont he will kill you.

The regular snipers are not quite as "specialized" they still do great damage but have a larger clip so in reality they may be better.

I found the sniper community in BF2 to say the semi-auto guns sucked like the SVD and alwasy went with the massive damage slow shot weapon like the M90, but the "pro" snipers did just the opposit they would own with the multi shot weapon because they can kill 3-5 people with it quickly before having to reload and it also didnt give away your positon as easy.

The camo deal, it last for about 20 seconds max and must recharge before it can be used again, its a "weapon" so while you use it you cant use any other weapon with it active.

If I recall correctly it wont do so in retail, i think it did in beta but I honestly couldn't say either way for sure, other then it was the same in Beta.

well, why wouldn't the sway be vastly reduced since you do have a bipod you can employ on the sniper rifle?

the sniper always did annoy me, if im prone the scope should move little compared to standing. in the beta i didnt see any differance between standing and prone.

thats what i think. i know the bf series isn't about "realism," but that just seems logical to me.
