I love the idea of the camo, I want to hear peoples loved tactics, information, and experience with the recon kit + the camo.
Is it true you can go invisible forever and can you sprint with it.
Thanks
Also how does the netbat thing work with support

You can sprint with it, it lasts 20 seconds and then needs 10 seconds to recharge. I think its 10 seconds anyways, i know its 20 seconds that it lasts for though.
The support netbat brings up a red diamond shape over you, they see it through walls or wondering around. I'm not 100% on that seeing as it never worked in beta, thats what i've been told. You're still a blurry shape to everyone though.

Its always useful at long range, a trick is to use it the moment you come out of a drop pod from a dropship/apc or spawn beacon thingy, you dissapear in the dust and the enemy has no idea where you are. Only at closer ranges will the enemy hear the cloaking noise if its quiet or they're paying keen attention to the area you just happen to pass through. I never used the cloak much in beta but had a friend who went on about it endlessly.
Once i was capping a base he was on ts with me, on the enemy team. He said "boo" so i said "what?". Then he proceeded to uncloak right in front of me and knife me lol xD. Its fun to use thats for sure.

I don't think the optical camo was so great in the beta, I could easily see and hear people with it on. Not only can you hear the persons footsteps, but when the optical camo is on it makes a buzzing sound.

Its great for getting to good hiding spots without anyone knowing

Yes, at short range, you're better off with your weapon out. The "buzz" will give you away, and it's intentional so invisible recon players don't rule the battlefield. It's best used against vehicles to get close and place RDX, or at range to move between cover without being seen.
In one game, I caught sight of an enemy sniper early on and just watched him for a bit. He was very clever in his movements and used the camo quite well to disguise his bursts across open ground. If I hadn't seen him from a way off, I'm sure he would have got me for sure. Even after he was in a tower right over our silo, I kept spamming enemy spotted, but no one saw anything when they looked up his way, so we played tag for the longest time before I finally got him (I was Engineer and trying to get him with my SMG...)

The best thing about it is running down halls of titans when people are camping at the consoles waiting to defend.
You can just run down the hall past them if there really stupid lol. Classic moments.

Many people tried that with me, none survived. I must admit one nearly got up to me but a rifle rocket to the chest put an end to him.
Trick to doing this easily is throw a smoke nade in, then run in cloaked. Obviously you need an Assault guy with the smoke nade first, but thats where friends come in.

#1 Tip for Active Camo - If you're going to run about with it enabled, don't do it near me because I'll see you quite easily. :p

It is me, and if you've killed me loads it's because BF2 and the Jolt server both have "issues".
I remember killing you plenty of times in BF2142 and also have your dog tags. ;)

I hated jolt uk servers, -you have been kicked for exesssive teamkilling- (hadn't even spawned yet)
and some times the invisibility is a little too good, i saw a person at the last min and thankfully he uncloaked infront of me before i shot because he was a team mate. however that was in one of those dark tower things.

1st i use up my explosives, i sneak up camouflaged and place some explosives
then hide and when they leave i capture the silo still camouflaged, chances are they do not find me in time
if i was still alive then i get in some vehicle and see if i can get new explosives OR camp out sniping till near by silo is capturable again
repeat till i'm dead and the whole thing repeat

Running after a sniper with camo using a smg, musta took awhile.
It happened around the southern silo. I was up next to the AA and saw him moving from Silo 5. He looked like he was going to cross the road before heading toward the silo, so I went down to wait for him at the crack in the wall. He went up that debris ramp to on top of the wall instead and I tapped him a couple times as he camo/sprinted to the tower. I know better then to follow a sniper, so I went prone on the other side of the wall near the buggy spawn and waited for him to creep out to the edge. I'd hit him with maybe 1/3 of my shots (SMG at that range is krap,) he'd back up and wait before crawling forward again, I'd tap him again. He figured out where I was, but he only got a body shot on me, so I got him before he could crawl back again.
The whole time I'm sitting their watching my mini-map waiting for the tank or buggy to respawn. Of course since I desperately needed one it didn't. :p

I never played beta so i'm not familiar with how loud the buzzing sound is when activated, but as with everthing else, you just have to know when and how to use your items. I've seen in videos(well, heard) how loud a missile firing from a silo can be when in the capture radius...seems like a great way to mask that buzz while sneaking up on some guys
