Hi,

Have EA announced anything on a "Friends List" in this game, possibly with the option to instantly join a game that a friend is playing in, because this is something that was missing in BF2. Finding friends on servers was a nightmare even using XFire and all that.
I seriously can't wait for this game to come out... BF2 was brilliant, and as much as i don't really like the thought of Mech's etc, this game should still be amazing because the core gameplay looks very similar.

Yes, the 2142 beta had a buddies list. It showed the server they were playing in. You just had to click a button to join ;)

With some bugs..
sometimes when my friends were online it showed that they were offline..

Oh yay! Finally a way to join a friend's server without having to use an external program like XFire. Cheers for DICE!

its going to be so helpful, it was a pain before however having skype helped. but yeh i hated it on bf2 when i was in a really good squad then i had to go or the server crashed and i forgot the names of the people that were in it.

i dont know why ea didnt think of implimenting it in bf2 straight away though, still glad they are including it this time.

"Yeah, hold on."

...wait...

"Oh, the server's full. Go find a server and give us the IP address and we'll join you when the round ends."

I find a server and give them the IP address. They join later and I hear...

"Oh Dude! Why did you pick Songua Stalemate?"

"I didn't, it was Strike at Karkand last round."

Was typical on any given night. :rolleyes:

I aswell am very happy they decided to bring back the buddly list. Joining through x-fire sometimes didn't work and was kind of a hassle. It worked very well in the beta, made things a lot easier.

Good news about the buddy list, especially if it works well. How do you add a 'buddy'? Is it just when you press tab to see scores and then right click to get the pointer and click on folks names or what?

Yes theres a buddy list. You can send messages, join your friends game and stuff.

Only problem with the messages, was that if you in-game actually playing, you had to drop back to the menu (pressing Esc) to read/reply to them.

buddy list and message is a nice feature :D

worked pretty well in the beta.

Only problem with the messages, was that if you in-game actually playing, you had to drop back to the menu (pressing Esc) to read/reply to them.

Its not that bad, just find a place to hide and then have a look.

I'd rather this than reply while playing, id hate to see a walker coming while im typing my fingers would sweat bullets trying to finish.

then theres always the guy with the crappy headset asking you to repeat the IP like 4x...

You can still be friendly by hiding behined a tree and then sending the message, its not gonna run away lol.

Buddylist is a goood thing, now finally I can actually play in same game as my bro without the whole messenger/telephone "what server are you in?...what map?...huh what map?....can find you...ooo that map I thought you said..."
plus now I can look up ppl I meet on the forums to see if they are as good as they say ;)

Yes, there 100% is a buddy list that you can message people and join games through.

the buddy list owns man, my freinds used that alot cuz his xfire was all messed up so we had to, its a great addition to the game

Let's all pray its not like Steams' Friendlist <-- (for those who know)

For those that don't it only worked the first 2 weeks it came out then they finaly fixed it after everyone gave up on it.

You do, you have to accept the buddy request or they wont be on your list and the same for you on their's.

Yes there is man, its in BFHQ, you can type in there name or part of it and find them, not the server but it will show there stats. Get your facts straight.

I know that. To see their stats.

Its a STATS browser, not player search.

Im talking about an actual player search ingame to see where they are playing.

Im no noob to BF2, been playing since it was released.:rolleyes:

It is a "player search" you should clarify. If you wanna see what server there in use bf2s.com or Bf2player.com

It would be more effecient to have an ingame browser than having to go to a thirdparty website.
