EA has just notified us that the demo for the much anticipated Battlefield 2142 will be made available next week.

I hope its tuesday now you've said. I'll be cecking the EA site then.
I'm guessing the demo will be very similar to the BF2 one, with a single map.
I haven't played this game at all yet, or read much about it so the demo will clear a lot of things up.
I'm hoping they havent changed the core gameplay much as that was pretty much perfect in BF2 besides a few minor things. The thought of Mechs just doesn't seem right though, but when I think about it they are basically tanks but a different shape :laugh:

I've watched a few movies so far, but couldn't be fragged staying up until 3am to get a beta test key.
The recent Titan tutorial video is awesome and has me really hanging out for the demo :)

I'll be waiting for my ISP to host it, and grab it from them at 1,000kbs. Shouldnt take too long to download.
Downloaded AA 2.7 recently and that didnt take too long at all :)

I'm guessing it's around that mark as well. Damn all these demos are getting so big in file size now ... :cry: I hate download caps. Have to wait until my ISP mirrors it so I can get it.

Your lucky I download at 80kbps usally. I have to leave it for awhile.

i have a dowload limit of 2gb a month >_> that pretty much went out the window, thats about under 2 weeks for me sometimes.
having said that, since it comes out in october, if i dont download too much i should get a faster speed.
grr i hate download limits. but i guess the service is worth it.

20Gb limit (uploads included) with Australian ISP Bigpond.
They host all the popular demos/patches etc, and they dont count towards my cap.
I've already posted on their gaming boards about this news, so hopefully they will be on tha ball and the demo will be available PDQ on Wednesday morning (aussie time)

What ISP's are you guys using, because I'm not sure that my ISP would mirror it? at least not that I know of
I'm using Internode in Australia. You're somewhere else so yea, big difference.:laugh: The Games Network is also conveniently named IGN and mirrors most gaming files that come out.

i download game files at xfire. I don't think there is a cap. I get get my downloads up to 350kb/s. Best of all... there are no waiting times. You can download right away. I hope they get BF2142 demo on xfire the day it is released.:D

Don't forget there will also likely be a torrent up within hours of the EA downloader folks getting their "24 hour exclusive." ;) If you're one of the folks who gets the demo off said torrent, "DON'T BE A LEECH!" leave your bit torrent client running till you have a 1.0 share ratio. Believe me, it helps everyone.
Oct. 3 had been my target demo date right along once the Oct. 17 launch date was confirmed. The only thing left to question is if Monday or Tuesday will be EA downloader day.
I don't mind the large file size that much. I usually just log into my home PC from the office and start the DL at lunch. By the time I get home, it's ready for install.

2gb,ouch that sucks.I dl about 1-2gb a day so it wouldn't last long with me.I got a 8/1 connection and no limits.I didn't even know some countries had limits.

The downloader usually gives me somewhere around 400 to 500 kbs. I'm gonna use that. If I use any other link I get as low as 250-300. The downloader has actually been really reliable for me also.

Even after the 1.4 BF2 patch was available for a few hours, I still was getting 1.2Mb/sec from the downloader.

It wont be on a sunday, most likely be on tuesday, but it could be any business day

Tuesdays seem to be the Day EA and other companies like to release thier stuff.
In the US Tues. is when that weeks new music comes out, I guess it is better than having to deal with a buch of customer support probs on a Monday lol

I cant remember where I got it from when I had to d/l AA I tried like 4 or 5 diffrent places and they all required you to have paid memberships for fast servers and no wait situations, fastest download was like 300kb/s but then I found one more link like fileshack, fileplanent, download.com, somthing like that and it was free for the public and got a 1.5mb/s d/l and had the huge file in no time.
I need to figure out wich place that was.
For a massivly popular file like this demo is sure to be tho, rather than trying to squeeze my way into the bandwidth war with 10000's of other people, I will probably just download it as a torrent file where the more people downloading the faster you get the file.

Consider yourself lucky. I download at 80kbps as a max lol. Doesnt matter which site I use :).
