one thing i have always wondered about, how can peopel make mods for this?

since they have not released the game yet? are they using the beta and basing their mods around that or have they been given a special copy of the game by ea or something?

I don't think anyone has started work on a BF2142 mod yet. Though they might be able to port some things over from their BF2 mod. I'm not sure if it's possible.
