I was wondering how long it takes to get to each rank, or an estimated amount of time, and if it's even possible to get through all the upgrades of 1 class, and go and get all of them on a 2nd one. ie. start with recon and go to assault and unlock both sides of each, or would it take forever to unlock them all?

wow, that chart makes me cringe in pain thinking of maxing out my account with all the unlocks, I better think of a class I dont want to be.

Still better than BF2.

You don't even need all the unlocks. Once you max out the class you're best at, you can just chip away at everything else.

True to some extent but unlike BF2 where you as a good player could get by with NO unlocks at all and still be just about equal to the enemy 2142 the unlocks give a strong advantage and offer entirly new styles of game play.

Since I always tend to use the kit most needed for the situation if I have unlocked my favorite kits like sniper/recon/support and suddenly we need anti armor support, I wont do as good as the guy with all the mines, and the really awsome AT Rifle.

Same goes for the guy lacking extra sprint, or grendades or a squad leader with no unlocks. That AT rifle is a priority for me anyways I think its too good to pass up a weapon that can take out armor in 1 shot.

Dont forget, you get 4 soldiers for each account. Thats the word at least. That means you can start over 4 times, and its easy as hell to get unlocks, 4 times.

While it is indeed a great idea to have seperate accounts for unlocking things (and I have said it before) the biggest issues with that are that you wont be able to change to that other equipment in that same game you need it if its another account and it would cause a loss of aquired stats for just one account like play time, and its just that much longer till you have everything with just one guy.

But if the demo doesnt have everything unlocked its not a half bad idea to make like 4 guys and just fully unlock each kit really fast so you know what you like best, even if it is a "waist" of time in the long run it could save you alot of grief.

Well it may be better as far as the points/time/rank ratio but its not better in the fact that you get an unlock every rank till the end pretty much and every one of those unlocks is usfull.

I have only had BF2 for like 2 months and im a gunny and already have all the unlocks I could want/need infact I only need a few more to have them all.

I know there is no way BF2142 will be the same so I cant say its better.

So if you care about rank sure its better, if you care about your unlocks and having all the games material avalible to you its not.
