1. I've heard somewhere that you cant create a new squad intill at least 3 people have joined the first squad. Is this true? Because if it is its much better you wont have 8 squads all useing the unlocks for squad leader.

2. Also Can you join a squad when dead? Because in bf2 you couldnt.

1. Not true, to my knowledge.
2. Yes, and it was in BF2... until it was taken out in a patch.

you can create any squad even if there are already squads there with 1 person in it.

You can squad hop as its called, joining squads when you're dead and all that. Its not got even nearly the same impact it had on BF2 though, as 2142 has LOADS more spawn points then BF2 anyways, so its hardly noticable. Losing progress to a field upgrade is also a deterant i believe.

Spawn becaon = 1 squad member + squad leader
UAV drone = 2 squad members + squad leader
Gun drone = 3 squad members + squad leader.
Thats how many peeps you need in a squad to use the relative device.

thats cool. i really hope theres more teamwork in this game than there was in bf2. at least there are some incentives

yeah, in bf2 I would always squad up because then I would have a mobile spawn point. but I was never squad leader because I didn't gain anything.

I know that you can join when you are dead (at least that was in the beta) and about the squad thing... good idea but I don't think that exists.

i try to join a squad because if you stick together you can do about whatever you want.

yeh there are tonnes of spawn points -at least in the beta. although i too wont be touching the squad leaser role because i feel it holds you back.

It holds you back lol. Being squad leader is better, theres alot of badges you can obtain from being a good SL. Which pay with alot of Career points.

And its rewarding when you have a sick squad that win EVERY game lol.

They're possibly still being tweaked, nobody knows. Have to wait a while yet. Some badges were worth 1000 points or more iirc. That may be being reduced though, its not ott though seeing as they're a 1 time only award.

there was a website once...search for 2142 forums on google and there might be a website in there that lists ALL of them...

under ranks...I cant quite remember the website...sorry...search for it

Bronze badge = 20 points.
Silver badge = 500 points.
Gold badge = 1000 points.

There ya go :p

Bronze badges can be aquired very easily. Silver with around 15 hours with one kit and gold with like 50 hours. There not amazingly hard to achieve.

No it was fully ranked with leaderboards and everything. look in my sig. I am just amazing lol.

He was placed 27th. I got quite high up too, but never took a screeny. It wasn't difficult, Beta wasn't running for that long.

No thats 27th in the world in the beta lol. Wel'll it was 15th cause 12 places were gaming conventions lol.

That's funny. I was rarely SL in BF2 because no one ever appreciated you. Unless you were playing with friends on TS, it was rarely worth it. I'm actually looking forward to be a SL in 2142. It will take some adjustment to my play style (I'm very offense, lead from the front, minded,) but I think I will enjoy more once I get the knack.

We'll see.

Well i didnt try to be high in the leaderboard lol. There wasnt really any point seeing as the stats were reset. I just played well.

ohhh someing I play for is the leaderboard...

I know in the back of my heart that noone cares but its a nice something to play for...hurts when you loose it

Im glad you can squad hop. It was so annoying when they took it out in bf2, there should be a penalty but not having to wait to spawn geez. Maybe not rejoin the same squad you just left maybe?
