I know that the game is not out yet but many people here were part of the Beta Testers Program.
I am interested in hearing what ideas that you guys would have for an expansion pack. Have a doodle of a vehicle that you would like to see in BF2142? Host it on Imageshack (http://www.imageshack.us) and show us!
Lets keep this clean as well please people. ;)
Just no Expansion Packs, but an update through a patch, thats the thing I want to see.

Because thats what keeps EA/DICE employees , Employed.
If they sell their game this month and have no way to sustain the revenue, what will pay for the next patch, or game for that matter
Oh yeah, how about a new faction ar Race, remeber it 2142 havent we found the Aliens yet?

Well, ya, that's what we all want, but do you really think that's what we'll get?
Anyway, in a future patch/expansion or something it might interesting if they applied the titan raid and destroy tactic to ground bases. And maybe even a combo of ground base vs. titan.
There should also be a new army at some point. I mean do the people of Africa really want us crowding in there? *shrug* Maybe and entirely different theatre from another continent.
Oh, how about an underground cavern type map? Kind of a large tunnel type thing going through a mountain. With some passage ways big enough for vehicles and others so small you need to crawl through them. That would be a cool addition I think.

They DO have dynamic in-game advertising and they still have a way of generating revenue like that.
I have no idea for an expansion pack though.

if they put a expantion out they should put it on disc,,,,,, the BS of having to get them from EA downloader is crap,,, i think they'ed sell alot more if they put them out in the public eye..... all that is is a way for them to save money not having to rip them to disc,,,,, but their, in my eyes are losing a ton of sales.
alot of people have no way of getting it from EA downloader,, like me.......
if it waz on the selves i would have every expantion for BF2 but i dont. and never will as long as they keep it tied to the EA downloader..... neither will alot of others who want them also....

Yes, this brings another good point up, in all the other BF games they did not have in-game advertising.
If they do make an expasion pack it should not have the ingame adverstising in it but it still will.

Well, the expansions were on shelves, it was the booster packs that were only on the downloader... But ya, DL'ing games like that is the future of gaming. (Not necassarily from the EA downloader, but from online gaming stores or what not)
But ya, not everyone or everything thing is technologically ready for it, but some day. Doesn't have to be today though.

I won't buy any expansion packs unless they have a lot of value and cost less. The BF2 ones were just terrible, and no one played them after a week.

Lets just hope there are no "booster" packs and if they are, not only available through the EA Downloader. I'm 99.9% sure that they'll be releasing an expansion pack though I can't think of what theme would be in them.

Never played armored fury or the other one... But Special Forces was what made BF2 worth playing to me. I got the deluxe editon game that came with it and I play 99% special forces, only time I touch BF2 normal maps is to play with a friend or use my L96.
Very good expansion, and it does in directly to this topic because if they ever did "patch" in anything I wish they would add grapple hooks and zip lines again. I think a hybrid would be nice, think batmans deal, where you can shoot it out of a gun up to the top of a building and scale it, or shoot it across a chasm or somthing and use it like a zipline.
Should allow more stratagy in the game, also let snipers and things back onto high buildings since they took away the pod method to get there.

+ bf1942 might hae had 2 expansion packs but it had no advertizing and it still had loads of free content
+ BF vietnam didnt have any expansion packs and still had alot of free content
++ they didnt starve to death :laugh: why should they starve now

Not really into too much sci fi but giving the route they are going perhaps we may see a robotic/cyborg faction with stronger ground troops and weapons but less vehicles/armour available or usable by them.

Perhaps some new game modes, as mentioned above different takes on titan mode.
Perhaps an assualt type, mission objective based mode. A VIP mode, where you have to defend some form of carrier or person on its/their way to somewhere ^_^
I mean if you could fuse every good gametype u've ever played into BF2142 and it worked, why would you want to play anything else :D
Unless you hated the future in which case... meeeh to you.

Well I reckon they are gonna put out a booster pack, the reason why i believe this is because they have left out a few holes in the story for example whatever happened to america (not sure if thats answerered) also there is also the possibility of things such as rebel forces who wish to go against their own alliance. Another reason is they have only released a small amount of maps, they could add through patches but they only did like 2 maps through patches in BF2 and the booster seems an easier way for them to incorporate the maps. So yer I think they'll go with a couple of boosters but they will still add a couple of maps through patches to keep the community alive who don't want to dish out the extra cash...

A variant of capture the flag would be good but with the flag being a ground based version of a titan. Gotta get there, get in (blow the doors?) and then blow the consoles and reactor.
Nightvision would be cool but better than SF would be nice, and as said a version of zip lines and grappling hooks.

i would only buy a expansion pack if it changes the gameplay completly, like SF did for BF2.
the booster packs of bf2 didnt add anything new except a few maps and vehicles.

U see it wrong, with all the ice, Africa will be the new Europe/North America.

Presumably anyone that opposed either faction would of been eliminated anyway. So i can't imagine native africans becoming the new faction anytime soon. I mean how effective is a Hippo plugged into a coconut tree against a Titan packing laser bastard death rays.
