View Full Version : EA Downloaded Version of 2142: Can I burn a hard-copy onto DVD?

I'm wondering if I order BF2142 through the EA downloader, whether I can then burn a copy of the game to install whenever. For example, if I reformat my hard drive, can I then install it from the burned DVD, or do I have to download it again?

Thanks

Somewhere around TotalBF2 there is a tutorial on how to backup BF2 from EAD which should be similar for 2142... don't have a link handy though.

iirc, it stores you purchase information so if you reformat, you just type in the stuff and it downloads for you for free.

DONT quote me on that, thats what i remember reading somewhere.

Yea, I think he knows that you can redownload again, but he wants to burn to a hard copy, so he won't have to download the whole thing again.

If it's anything like EF and AF for BF2, then you should have a folder for it under this directory: "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Downloader\cache\xxxYOUR USERNAME HERExxx".
They may have wierd names so just open some folders and try search for a setup.exe file. For example, AF had a file name of "eagamesbf2-2006online_map_contentbf2af".

I'd say you just backup that entire folder for BF2142 onto a disk.
