Wow. Battlefield 2 is an excellent game but i have allways had a huge problem with loading times. I don't have lots of RAM, i have a laptop, it's not made for Bf2 and things like that so 80% of the time on bf2, it won't let me on a sever.

The other 20% it, will take about 20 minutes before it says 'Join Game'.

Anyway, Bf2142 is a HUGE improvement. I said to myself that i wouldn't buy this game if loading times were the same as that of Bf2 but they are much shorter. Which is great.

Not only that but presentation on loading screens are better and they have better stats. Im just really happy that my problem with the Battlefield series is over.

Any of you guys feel the same ?

The loading screens look a lot more clean, smoother and organized.

The loading time is amazing now, I hope it stays this way for the retail.

is it just me or is it b/c the demo is all stored on ur hard drive and therefore the faster loading times.

I doubt that is the case. Loading times were just as bad in the Bf2 demo as they were in the finished game.

Okay, so i've read nurmous people on nurmous boards say this and no one mentioned this one thing; non-ranked servers.

I can almost guarantee 100% that retail BF2142 ranked servers will go through the long process of 'verifying client data' (Like in Beta). It will once again be a headache.. for some atleast.

Unless i've misunderstood everyone who's ever posted about this for 2142 and they're just talking about the 'real' loading of the map and not the 'verifying client data'. I've experienced the same 'real' loading of the maps as in BF2.

If I am understanding everyone; play BF2 on non-ranked servers and you'll understand.

That is an interesting viewpoint. Perhaps it is the absence of stats that makes the loading process faster. Maybe one of the DICE members in this forum can inform us further.

Your right about the Unranked and Ranked time difference but it's not really that big of a change in bf2, im not sure it would be in this game.

I f*cking hope not because now it's like 1 minute. That's a miracle for me. I'd get a refund straight away if ranked servers took 20 minutes to load.
