Hi guys erm well the other problem was solved ( laggy choppy play) by changing the .exe name and cancelling startup videos to save some RAM. anywhoooo the only problem is that now i play there is glitchy black patches on the ground. For example on strike at Karkand playing as the americans starting positions the hills to the left and right have these black patches odd... i have dx10 and thought it may be interfeering with things, if so how would i revert to dx9 versions? or is it because of the changed .exe in which case i spose ill have to put up with it... any other ideas?

You could try different drivers for your gfx card (nvidia, omega (http://www.omegadrivers.net/nvidia.php)) or lower gfx settings ingame.

kk ill give it a try, i have also noticed that it only works (the changed .exe) in compatability mode, this in conjunction with me having dx10 could this cause problems?

Does this happen in other games? If you have no other games, try running 3DMark06. As already said, try newer drivers.

what video card do you have? Is it new? Did you jsut get it? Who made it?

Have you overclocked your video card or set Turbo in BIOS

can u post a pic maybe? BF2 has this annoying texture glitch where faraway textures flicker black.

otherwise, i think its either overheating.
