help with BF2142 and addressing some issues

where is the configuration? because i want to turn the setting lower. so it won't lag as much !


i mean when titian is moving or fighting in a NON moving titian !! it just ...lags so much !!

and the maps are just too big too much unneeded spaces.... and don't get vehicles spawn too often. so need to waste like waste a lot of time walking to places....... the distance between points are just too far... and sometimes barely any vehicles because they have been taken ! and some people they don't let you take a ride with them !!


BF2142 issues:
cause comp to crash and auto restart
shows BF2142 caused by Error and have to be closed
shows other Errors, then closed the game
sometimes can not connect to main server need to restart computer



my comp spec: sony RS-PCV family ( brand )
2 gb ram memory
3.2 ghz pentium 4
ati 9550 special edition 256 mb ( i know i need better grahpic card.. but i am poor)
the best grahpic card that can be installed on my comp is ati 9800 because the better ones have a different adaptor which doesn't fit my comp
DSl connection 300 kbp 50 upload total 350 kbps

There's not a whole lot you can do aside from turning down the options in game, there's no hidden config file that you can tweak settings lower or anything.

Brand name computers like sony are notorious for coming with a lot of software preloaded, try to prune back on unnecessary programs starting and maybe tweak your entire OS with the assistance of a good Tweak guide, google search.

Your video card is definitely the weakest link, if your system accepts expansion cards I would look for a decent used AGP card like maybe a Geforce 6800 GT, something with a heck of a lot more pixel pipelines and 256bit memory interface.

This is what you have now:

4 parallel pixel pipelines
2 programmable vertex shader pipelines
128-bit dual-channel DDR memory interface

I think the game is fine the way it is. crying and complaining is what got bf2 totally nerfed. Nothing againts you junwang.

Main menu across the left hand side when you first get into the game after logging in. Options->Video change your video settings there.

lol did u even read my issues? its about all them errors that turns off my comp or closed BF2142 and thx u dangerdog !!
