Some time ago, a number of magazines reported that you'd be able to listen to the in-game radio stations while you walk around the streets of Liberty City using GTA IV's cell phone.
Unfortunately, EGM has now confirmed that this feature has been axed from the final version of the game. The removal of promised features is not uncommon for GTA titles. Early in the San Andreas media blitz, an excited Dan Houser told (http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=56025) the Official UK PlayStation 2 Magazine "We’re having to go to dual layer DVD because we’ve already filled up a full DVD".

Later that year, GTA San Andreas shipped on a single layer DVD for PS2. Other magazines, including Australia's official PS2 magazine and GamePro, reported that trams in San Fierro would be drivable, yet this feature was mysteriously missing from the final release.
With just roughly a week left till GTA IV hits stores, could we see more of the features that got left out of perhaps one of the most anticipated releases of all time.

Removing that isn't that bad. I just hope they don't remove any great features.

RockStar don't start cutting things out from the game. Just use Blu-Ray and forget the whole Xbox thingy... :D

j/k...

This ain't as bad as with MGS4. They used the whole Blu-Ray disc for the game(single or dual, one the game makers know).

"Unfortunately, because of disc space, we don't have the space to include the other languages--the other voice-over files--for the respective versions. So the Japanese version won't have English VO, and the NA and Euro versions won't have Japanese VO."

"In the interview, Kojima noted that he still isn't satisfied with the game's visual quality, but because of capacity constraints, the team had to make certain compromises to get the entire game to fit on Sony's Blu-ray Disc. Whereas traditional double-layered DVDs max out at 8.5GB, dual-layered Blu-ray discs accommodate a spacious 50GB worth of data. However, single-layered Blu-ray discs are only 25GB a side--and noone from Kojima Productions has revealed what size MGS4 actually is."
