I was getting nostalgic tonight I decided to fire up the USI test server and switch it over to a coop configuration with lots of bots, so if you want some USI action, go here:

IP 64.34.213.81, port 18570

Make sure when you start the USI mod that you select Coop for the mode or else you won't see the server.

Hopefully some people will come play with the bots so you aren't just playing with yourself. ;)

Unfortunately it seems USI has a problem with bots and the server was crashing every map or two so I took it down. It's not worth running it in conquest mode since there are so few USI players.

That's a damn shame I was all excited to see a bot server being hosted for the USI mod. I have not been keeping up on this but is there any word from the mod team on new releases or patches that may be coming down the road that might address this issue.

I hope they do address the problem because it is a fun mod, however you right with the limited number of players on line at any given time you need bot support so folks can play without needing a large group to be on.

It was quite fun when it didn't crash. I did manage one and a half maps before crashing. Guedoe says that there are some issues with the vehicles and bots, so that's what caused it. Unfortunately, the community isn't large enough to justify a conquest server, so we're kinda outta luck.

The last I heard, the mod team is taking a break, but may release another patch, which would be the last. They are mulling over the possibility of moving to another engine, but right now there's really nothing worth moving to, except maybe ETQW. It seems to be the most stable one out there and doesn't require a super computer, but there's no stat whores so it would probably be a little more popular.

Yea stats really killed the popularity and longevity of the mods for BF2, however there are few of us folks out here that still enjoy and appreciate the fun that the mods offer.

As for USI, if they are not interested in releasing another full update maybe we could talk them in to at least releasing a patch that would address issues such as the one you are experiencing when trying to host a bot server before they move on.

I would love to see a USI bot server so I will keep my fingers crossed but not too hard..;)

I've already asked. Guedoe is going to see if he can get with some of the coders to see if it can be fixed.

32 bots is lots of fun and they aren't that stupid.

I tell ya what guys, I'll go ahead and put the server back online. It'll probably crash every map or two, but maybe you'll get some enjoyment outta it. :) It'll be up in a few minutes.

Sounds good, I will stop by this weekend and check the server out if you still have it running. I take it the IP will be the same as in your original post...;)

I would love to join your USI server! Thanks GrossKopf! I will give it a go sometime!

Everyone on these threads should join the X-fire group. I haven't yet myself, but will that way I can join you guys easily in a USI game sometime. :yay:
