I cant believe this, its a total joke. I really wanted some help in how to increase teh speed or download elsewhere. Am currently downloading from gamershell. Have closed all programs (xfire etc..) apart from this web page obviously. Can i do anything else or do i just have to wait the 7 and a half hours?

Get the demo from EADownloader in under 30 mins.

Note: Obviously, not if you have 56k...heh... :)

get it off the ea downloader, it as 1 and a half hours for me off it, and 10 hours if i tried to ge tit off other sites.

It was the same when BF2 came out. It sucks but with such a high demand its only expected.

2. Install it
3. Pick BF2142 Demo => download then install

dont bother with the demo its a pain in the butt... i deleted mine couldnt get it to work and had to download like 3 things to get it to work...:cry:

His case is a rare one. Download the demo from EA, and be prepared to get hooked. Stock up on Mt. Dew and Cheetos.

I got it in less than 15 minutes from Gamespot and it looks fine and runs perfectly for me at all medium settings at 1024x768 with no AA. I only have 1GB of RAM, or I'd kick it up a notch. I think most of the people that are having performance issues probably are running settings beyond their hardware's capabilities.

The game looks pretty cool and will probably be amazing for ground pounders, with all the maps, BUT I'm mainly a chopper pilot and they've noobified all the aircraft so much that it's not even worth the effort to try to fly.

So much for my hopes that all the TKing air-tards would migrate to 2142. I guess I'll just have to keep dealing with them in BF2.

well downloaded it from EA and it took 3 hours. went to install, got error message saying it cant install at this time. FFS..so many problems and i haven't even played it yet!
