Lock up Issue with GTA IV

Kotaku (http://kotaku.com/385073/wait-gta-iv-is-locking-up) has recently reported that GTA IV was locking up right at the first cutscene.A Rockstar Customer Support Worker had this to say
"The problem is apparently only effecting the 60 GB version of the Playstation 3, but that it didn't matter that a particular console is a launch console. He added the problem is not across the board for the 60GB PS3s but rather only impacts some, so their tech folks are working around the clock to try and figure out what is causing the issue."
The 360 version seems to have the same problem, and the worrying thing is that no one seems what to do about it. There are some methods tried, but none have been confirmed to work.

Happened to my mate, he has a 60gb PS3, and apparently has less then 500mb left, when he thinks he has alot more space... tho it happened somewhere else... we was getting chased by 2 star cops, jumped on a train to the next station, and switched camera around a few times then when it got to the next station, doors opened but we couldn't get off the train, couldn't press start either, and everyone at the station was still walking around... it was weird

Yea this isnt good at all, what could they do about it though?
