May 29th Demo Release = People who pre-ordered the game... :p (w00t!)

June 5th Demo Release = Available to the rest of the public. (In other words, People who did not pre-order Battlefield: Bad Company online.)

The demo is for both PS3 and Xbox 360 I believe...

I'm not positive about that, but it would sure be a HUGE rip off if only the people who pre-ordered it recently receive early access to the demo... :hmm: I didn't until now, but I would feel bad for those who pre-ordered it a long time ago, if it's true that they don't get it May 29th.

On Feb. 28th i pre-ordered the Gold edition of Battlefield Bad company, but i never got the code for the sniper unlock, does it come when the game comes or should i already have it?

I have no idea about the EU retailers... I got from EA's Finnish site my retailers...

I checked out the EA UK site but no mention of it there either. I ordered from play.com who are giving the sniper code with the game so hopefully they will be doing the early demo code as well.

I did some googlin and there is no info about the EU retailers...

The weird thing is that when i called to the place where i pre-ordered my game, he confirmed the sniper unlock(that they have it). But he couldn't say for sure about the demo...

And when i check EA Finland's site, the stores name is mentioned in the list of stores who get's the early demo thing...

Alright, with you two talking about the early demo release and some of the issues regarding it, a thought just occured to me. (I live in the U.S)

I don't know how I get the early demo release, or how the EA store recognizes my Xbox Live account in order to get the demo on the 29th. I pre-ordered BF: BC from the EA store, like I said before, but I used a different email than for my Windows Live ID that I used to get Xbox Live, which is mandatory in order to get Xbox Live.

Does this mean that I don't get the early demo access, because I'm sure other people did it too and i haven't heard any details on how the people who pre-ordered it get access to the demo, but no info on using a certain email was provided so... :confused:

My guess is that on the 29th, an email will be sent to the email I used during the proccess of buying the game that will probably provide a link to where I can enter my Xbox Live Gamertag in order to get access to the demo, but that is just my imagination gone wild. :) lol - I guess we're just all going to have to wait and find out...

They're are going to ship it to my address. There is no such thing as a downloadable version... yet. That is, as far as I know considering that it's not for PC. Later on though, it might be possible that you can buy the game off the Xbox Live Marketplace, but is unlikely considering you don't see a lot of games with that option... :(

I wish too that they would give more info about the veteran thing and the demo download...

But i guess that they wanna keep the game under wraps to the release...

There is no info on the EU retailers for the early demo download...

But why don't you pre-order the normal version? Only thing different in the gold is the videos... What you most likely can see from Youtube later... And it costs more...

I changed my gold version pre-order to the normal because of that reason...

With gold edition, you get those weapons from the start....

With normal you need to participate to these marketing things to unlock them at the start(you get them anyways when you reach rank 25)...

So basically you are paying for the guns, what we(who ordered the normal edition) get for free anyways...

I just found out that there are some weapons that EA didn't openly share with the community, but thanks to some of the Beta players, they decided to take screenshots and create and publish a list of all the weapons in Battlefield: Bad Company, and which ones come with the Gold Edition. The thing is, there are a few that are not in the Find All Five pre-release programs. Also, they can be obtained by ranking up to a certain rank, but I don't think that is specified yet... :hmm:

I heard/read from somewhere that there is only 25 ranks.. And with every rank you can unlock a weapon or gadget(laser designator etc). And with the last rank you should have everything open...

I just hope that the ranks ain't á la BF2, meaning it takes forever to get them... Maybe something between BF2 and BF2142 would be great...

I personally pre-ordered the Gold version like 1-1.5 months ago... But then Deflex brought the thing up that the videos are gonna end up in the youtube anyways, and basically it just cuts down the gaming time...

So i decided to change my order to the normal version...

But if someone want's to watch "multiplayer hints"(like we don't know how to play :p) videos, already released trailers and listen to the soundtrack.. Then go ahead... It's your extra 10 bucks for that... :D

I have been saying that to myself ever since I have heard that EA was going to create more games to the series like Battlefield: Bad Company and Battlefield 3. That would be a dream come true! :yay:

lol, but the unlocks can only be used in the actual game itself, not the demo. :( But even so, I'm 50% sure that if EA wanted to promote all the unlockables from the Find All Five in the demo, then they would have all of them available to choose from for the multiplayer part, but I could be wrong. Very wrong. But you never know, and it doesn't hurt to guess! :D

And of course, you have the single player mode too, and you can pretty much use any gun you find! ;)

According to the Find All Five thing, you have to play the demo for 4 hours to get it...

Well, i make it 1:17pm by my clock, I just phoned play.com myself and got some dappy cow on the other end who had no idea what i was talking about and just said they will be getting sent out all day.

I downloaded Bourne Conspiracy demo from the US Store, under 10 min.. And it was around 1.6Gb... :D

My internet should be 24/2MB, but it constantly clocks over 30mb...

Well I played the demo for a couple of hours last night and here's my opinion.

The assualt class seems strange not having medi packs. This has been given to the support class which I still think the weapons are too inaccurate. The assualt class has agrenade launcher which is ok. Not as powerful as in BF2. Assualt guns as they normally are.

The sniper class is just how you'd imagine. The standard sniper rifle isn't 1 shot kill. Haven't unlocked the anti tank weapon with it yet tho so I can't comment.

Support is the same as other battlefields really. Tho has the new addition of medi packs. I haven't played as support for very long tho as its not a favoured class of mine. But the weapons are the same as support usually are.

I haven't really played the other 2 classes so I won't comment on them yet.

Gold rush seems like a good game but I think conquest will be the bread and butter as usual. Gold Rush does require a lot of team work otherwise 1 team will dominate.

The game itself is a bit buggy. It froze on me once and another time I lost sound completely. Hopefully these will get fixed. Oh and regards to prone I have no Idea why they took it out as I doubt it would make much difference to be honest. Maybe when ppl have more unlocks it might become more apparent. Also it seems a bit easy to kill people compared to previous battlefields.

Overall it seems like a good game. I'm just getting used to the controls. I tried flying a chopper and couldn't figure out how to fire missles which led to me exiting my chopper while in mid air and falling to my death :dead:

Hmm.. That's weird... In the one video what i posted here somewhere, you can see how he kills people with one shot to the torso...

Maybe it's with the unlocked weapons and not with the basics(lack of stopping power perhaps)...

Yeah I've definately had kill assist points with the stock sniper rifle (m24). I have seen that video as well so it must be one of the unlocks.

As far as the chopper goes I was too eager to play the game so didn't look at the controls. That was probably my problem :p

Oh and dog tags are in it. I got quite a few last night :cool:

I think the unlock Support weapon, the M36G or whatever it is is fairly accurate in bursts/single shots. I've had a fair few headshots against snipers and such.

Specialist... Hrm, the dart is a very good idea (homing dart, shot at enemy vehicles, all friendly missile in a certain area home in on it) but i've not seen it work yet. The gun is very good ONLY at close range, same for the shotguns, which are pretty much one shot, one kill.

It seems odd that Support are both mechanics and medics, whilst other classes seem to have very little team impact.

And on the bug side of things, the sound disappearing is the only bug i've encountered so far.

I also believe claymores are gone! Hooray!

And, told you so about about heli controls :P

Yeah this is really strange. I'm not sure I like this to be honest. I thought it was better spread throughout the classes.

I unlocked the self medi kit for assualt, which is pretty useless to be honest. I also unlocked the mines for the demolition class as this seems to be the best class for defending (In my opinion anyway). The mines have proven to be a good choice.

I think I might go for the Laser Guided Bomb next. Tho I really want a new assualt rifle as well. Either the M16 or the XM8 but I'm not sure which. The stock weapons aren't that bad so I'll probably go for the Laser guided missle before I get a new weapon.

I've got the M16, it's a notable improvement on the starter assault weapons. However, I can't say I really like the class at all, at close-range, you're going to get owned by anyone with a shotgun or sub-machine gun, and on open ground you'll get your arse kicked by a machine gun... Meh, I don't know, I just don't 'feel' it.

It takes a while to get used to the assault class but i really like it now.. i unlocked the medikit and i think it makes it a very good class... true you can't do much damage to any tanks/apc's but the weapon i find very good at all ranges and i have often been able to out snipe a sniper with it on burst/single shot

you can only get to rank 4.... after that u wont go any further.... as for the laster guided missile unlock... that was the first one i unlocked and it inst bad. the only annoying thing is that people do what they always do in bf games and bail out the tank when they hear the lock on warning.... that said if they don't then you can get some good kills with it.

Can't you lock to buildings and to other stuff too with the Laser Designator?

No you can only lock on to tanks/apc's/jeeps.. you can then manually direct the bomb to a building if you want but u wont do much except make a big crater. you can use the support mortar unlocks on buildings tho..

I don't think you can totally level brick structures as their basic frame is still there. I might be wrong tho but there always seems to be ruins about. Towards the end of the map there are loads of buildings so the map never really gets totally levelled anyway.

The demo isn't that buggy I've only had it freeze once and the sound bug once so I wouldn't worry about it too much. You can play for a few good hours without any probs. I think you'll really enjoy it to be honest. At the end of the day it still feels like Battlefield.

I've only had the sound bug and even that was only once so no major problems for me. As for the buildings the gametype means that the battle progresses along the map, that said if you get a really drawn out defense things can get pretty smashed up. I like wandering around a defense point after the battle has moved on and look at all the brick dust rising up

And regarding how quickly a building will get destroyed, you can take out an entire face, on one floor, with a single tank shell/grenade. Because of the lack of ceilings/floors being destroyed, mortar strikes/artillery are sometimes somewhat ineffective against targets in buildings.

There seems to be a bug with the land mines not distinguishing between friend and foe. For some reason when I sometimes place them then run over them they blow me up. This has happened a few times now. Also when I was playing yesterday I was placing some mines when someone killed me. Then a friendly tank rode over where I had been placing my mines and it blew the tank up and I got 2 team kills :( They are meant to distinguish between friend and foe so I don't know why this was happening but it was really annoying. :mad:
