Looking to be in something more than just a "clan" Do you want to be in a realistic structured 'Division' that are the utmost professional? The 82nd Airborne Division is just that! Are you able to be a leader? Do you have the correct skills necessary to succeed? If so, then continue to read!
First of all, time commitments are a big thing here in the 82nd Airborne Division. We pride ourselves on trying to accomplish our goals to the best of our ability while representing our unit as the elite. However, to do this, we need Soldiers who can be on, and who can actually do something here. This isn't a clan, this isn't a guild, this is a Division; we are split into many parts. Each part brings different specializations, challenges, obstacles, and of course, opportunities.
Realism is also a big factor here in the 82nd. When you become a Airborne Paratrooper, you have many leadership spots at your fingertips, however, only the true leaders that show they have the skills necessary can become one. Our ranking system is also similar. If you love realism, you'll love what we bring to the table.
Core Values. Abide by them. That is our main goal - to follow the correct path. If you follow the guidelines, if you show yourself to be a true Airborne Paratrooper, you can swing through the ups and downs. The Core Values aren't just a guideline or a suggestion, they are a policy.
Finally, we are professionals. In-game and out of game. Your rank doesn't classify who you are; what you do here classfies who you are. Every man will respect each other accordingly; there is no micky-mouse controversy or politics in this Division. If you have a ego or an obsession with power - we don't want you, because it will just get squashed.
After enlisting, we will evaluate your application to see if your Airborne material. Make sure to be truthful when you are answering the questions, remember, the Core Values are key. After your written application is approved, you will undergo a verbal interview on teamspeak to make sure that you have what we're looking for. If you pass this, you will go through BAIT (Basic Airborne Infantry Training). Our Instructors will teach you the basics of COD4 skills and you will be indoctrinated into the unit's protocols. By the end of your training, you will graduate and become a fully-fledged Paratrooper and have your wings. Although your training will be over, your career as a Paratrooper will have just started.
"All too common in many realism units is an obsession with rank, structure, and resources. While we have great structure, a very nice website, good rank requirements, and lots of practice servers, we also have something that is much more important. And it is something that most realism units pay no attention to whatsoever because they are fixated on the more superficial aspects of realism like ranks or servers or how many slots their TS server has. I understand that these are important technical elements to a good unit, but they aren't nearly as important as something else. And that is the camaraderie and sense of teamwork that I see on a daily basis from my Paratroopers. Whether it's in squad drills, duty office activities or TWL matches, the outstanding cohesiveness and friendship of 82nd Paratroopers always amazes me. In fact, it is what motivates me to do my job to the fullest of my ability, and I'm sure many other Paratroopers can same the same. If you're looking for what a realism unit is supposed to be, you've just found it and we'd be glad to have you in our ranks. Hooah!"
