Well i'm just wondering how other people play when it comes to sound, i personally just bought nice SONY Noise Cancelling headphones....and OH MY GOD the sound is terrific. I always play with headphones, because i just feel...."more in the game"
what bout you guys?

well, i use a webcam and plug in some headphones to avoid the echo of my voice coming from the speakers on the monitor. on my end, its sounds good enough. its not bad and its not good. but when other people hear me on VOIP, it sounds like i'm in a small closed room.

I have a $25 headset with mic...its pretty nice and feels comfy on my head...after using a headset its hard to play without one because the sound just isnt as good when its coming out of speakers in my opinion

I currently have a mic mounted on a stand, i.e. its a really mic, like what people sing and play instruments into. My headset is broken and I have this for recording simple stuff at home. :D
For sound I have a really nice 2.1 speaker system. Having a subwoofer owns all else!

I use a Skullcandy Hesh. The fur on the headset itself cancels out noise.

I primarily use it while playing at concerts.. but what the hell, might as well use it for gaming.
You can probably work out why:

I only use headphones/mic if I'm playing with friends or I happen to be in a squad that actually communicates (which is uncommon).
