i know this is completely off topic, and feel free to delete it after im done.
But i need to know...
Ive got a maths exam tomorrow and i need some help.
Ok in trigonometry does it use the Sin Cos and Tan rule?
Or is that some thing diffrent?
Cos (excuse the pun) i swear that there is Pythagoras, Trigonometry and one other one, but im not sure if Trig uses Sin Cos Tan or is that something diffrent all together...
(If you do GCSE maths you will understand)
Thanks

yea i know that ;)
Sin = Opposite / Hypotenuse
Cos = Adjacent / Hypotenuse
Tan = Opposite / Adjacent
Is Trigonometry the same as the Sine and Cosine rule?

Have you heard of Off-Topic (http://www.totalgamingnetwork.com/main/forumdisplay.php?f=105)?
GCSE Maths is a piece of piss, just wait till A-Level. :)

thanks, that fills me with confidence...
Who said anything about A-Level maths?...

sin, cos, tan, cot, sec, and csc are all trigonometric functions.
The laws of sines and cosines are specific rules that come into usage within the area of Trigonometry. They are only a small part though.
Its time you start exploring the rest of the forums. There's an entire Off-Topic section devoted to you posting or asking whatever you want. (within reason)

Ohhh, don't go into Cosec and Secan and Cot stuff, never comes up in GCSE math.
And yes, Trignometry at GCSE will involve Sin, Cos, Tan, Cos Rule, Sin Rule, Areas, volumes, etc.

Ahh.. I just figured I'd cover all of them just in case. :D

But Trig is fun!
Calculus is even more fun!
dy/dx ftw!

The soh cah toa stuff is learned in geometry. Beyond that, trig is the biggest waste of 1 year of highschool for a class. If you want to be a radio wave technician, then maybe its for you. Otherwise, get the most grade for the least possible effort.

lol its ok now, ive had the test :)
Thanks guys
Great. And as they said, in the future please use the Off Topic section. I know it's one of the darker corners of the internet, but somebody will be there holding a lantern.
Wow...that was quite random...
