View Full Version : The Very First Thing You Will do in Bad Company...

The title pretty much sums it all up...
So what is the absolutely very FIRST thing you want to do in Battlefield: Bad Company? ;)
The poll might not have the exact choice you're looking for, but out of the ten options choose something, and then feel free to talk about why and give specifics about your game plan, either for the demo or the actual game itself.
:D Have fun discussing and don't forget to vote! (I made it so you can only vote once, so choose wisely!)
Personally, I'm going to start the Single Player Campaign and just mess around with the controls that way I get better, so when I do switch over to Multiplayer I can do a better job than I would have been able to do without the getting used to the game. Of course, I'm also going to blow tons of stuff up and expirament with the weapons that I find in the Campaign mode.
There also might be some of you who's goal is to actually start and finish the campaign in one shot, whether or not you stay up all night long to finish it, but I prefer to work my way through the game nice and slow so I can enjoy it better, and that way - it won't get boring too quick, which I doubt will be a big problem for this title! :D
But since the demo is only going to allow people to play a small section of the Campaign PLUS the online multiplayer, I'll do the multiplayer first because I want to get the f2000 unlock code by ranking up to the 4th rank before I play through the campaign sample... :)
See you guys on the battlefield! :salute:

It's gonna be goofing around in SP(maybe start the campaign), to get used to the controls and stuff... Then i'll hit the MP after that...
With the demo, i'll prolly do the same... First SP then MP... To get to the lvl 4, im gonna pull few all nighters if i have to...

Maybe so, but I sure hope that the ranks don't take as long in bf2, and like you said before- somewhere between bf 2142 and bf2 would be great.

Im totally a MP guy, so ill head straight there.
Ill do the lone map thing for a few mins, just so i don't make a complete hash of it in a live game. Then its the start of what im sure will be many hours of MP goodness.
If the ranks are anything like the 2142, then ill be content.

Same here. Battlefield's always been about multiplayer so I'm not expecting much from the single player to be honest.

SP is good way to master the controls, without getting your a$$ raped.. :D
With Cod 4(pc version), i played the whole single player through before i went to MP...

id like to finish the campaign first (or do most of it then go and try multiplayer if i get stuck and cant complete) before i embark on multiplayer. It would be good for multi practice as well.

I did the SP and MP together in COD4, like half an hour of one, then switch, but thats only because COD4's SP was so exceptional.
I cant see myself loving the SP campaign in Bad Company, all the appeal is in the MP right now. It might surprise me tho.
Despite all its problems, the BF series has always been multiplayer heaven for me.

Same thing here, except for the reason behind it was I didn't get Xbox Live until after I beat the Single Player.
And it's still as good as it was the first time playing through it! ;)

Really? Every interview I've watched of people who have played the SP said it was literally amazing and will blow COD4 out of the water...
I have to say, it might not be as intriguing or serious, but it will sure be fun as heck to blow up $**t... at the very least. But believe it or not, I'm actually more excited about the Campaign, because I already know that any the Multiplayer will be amazing no matter what. I totally agree with you that the Battlefield series knows what's best when it comes to Multiplayer, and even though it's not always 100% perfect, it's still better than any other game out there by far! :)
The campaign though will be new, different, original, fun, and exciting! :p

lol, I have to agree.
Too bad I can't edit the poll cuz that's a good one... haha

Um... I only install things when the game is for PC.
Battlefield: Bad Company is for Xbox 360/PS3 only... lol

Some PS3 games actually need to install game data before you can play them, though I don't know whether this is the case in BF:BC.

I hear what your saying Deflex, it might surprise me, but I've never been a massive SP fan, so ill reserve judgment until i see it for myself.
If its good, i will be the first to come on here and say i was wrong :p
And that thing the other guy said about installing, its possible the PS3 version will have a quick install as blu-ray has a lower read speed.
Edit : Nevermind Twilight beat me to it.

Interesting... not on the 360 though, and I'm glad cuz there is almost no space to hold just a few games, but I only use that valuable space for the little things like game demos, videos, and other free stuff on the Xbox Live Marketplace...

Haha, yeah... Games with Single Player should be really good and if that fails, then usually Multiplayer is better, but in this case you know the multiplayer will be amazing and the SP looks good and I can just hope it is amazing as well... :)
Can't wait for demo time!

Yeah, some games has install in them before you can play...
First i saw was GTA 4... It took some five minutes, and it makes the game's loading times faster...
It really doesn't bother me at all...
Deflex

Ahhhh... All the peer pressure in here is wanting me to get a PS3 more now... grrr :)
Faster loading times is always good... Nevermind installing games, 5 minutes? PSH! That's nothing...

^^ Lol.
i would recommend a PS3, definitely.
The installs don't just speed up load times tho, they also make up for the fact that Blu-rays have a much lower read-speed than DVD's. So some data is installed to streamline the process.
But 5 minutes in return for faster loading and what-not, seems a pretty good price to me

Game data installs can increase loading speeds, though it on some games it can take ridiculous the amounts of time it takes to install. DMC 4 took just over 20 minutes to install for me and only took a few seconds off the load times, compared to the Xbox 360 version.

Lol, yea, you got me there.
Ill concede that DMC4's install was hardly worth it at all.

True, the multiplayer is going to be the bomb... Singleplayer, no one can really say for sure, but it looks awsome...
