I am having trouble downloading the patch for Grand Turismo 5 I get about 40% done and then it says Download failed!...... anybody got any ideas?

Yeah lol i get the same sometimes it says 'Connection Failed' so for now i put the PS3 near my door so that i get a 45%~ signal till i get longer wires for my router so that i can place the router in my room once and in for all. Try having a good and clear connection that could maybe solve the problem other than that i am not really sure.

I had RSV2 (Fail), Assasin's Creed (I'm too lazy to play), GT5 Prologue (:nod:), GTA4 (:shock:), Burnout: Paradise (Fantastic game, but once I got GTA knew I'd never play again, so I got rid of it), Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction (:yay:).

I kept being foolish enough to buy FPS but I resisted Haze, they're just not the same as PC. Just no where near.

It's a good console if your not too worried about playing online (let's be honest 360 is superior in that respect), and have got a PC and therefore most of the good exclusives (Halo=Over-Hyped Crappy Piece of ****). Plus Blu-Ray inbuilt so that I'm futureproof for a while.

It's a good all-rounder and is definatly sufficient for my needs.

I have a question for you guys.

Do you Think games that platform between both Xbox and PS3 bring the PS3's potential down?

Example: GTA4 could have been a lot bigger as a PS3 only game as they had a whole 40gb(Dual-Layer Blu-Ray Disc) to work with. This could have made more areas accessible and more features into the game.

And do you think this will continue to happen? With more great titles?

I think now developers and publishers have seen that console exclusives are no longer as good as they use to be, most of the time its microsoft, sony, or nintendo paying those companys to make their game a console exclusive, (HALO 360, Haze PS3 etc)

Many games that are 1st released as exclusives are now even quicker being made for another system such as Unreal III is now coming to 360. And Bioshock is coming to PS3. Sure exclusives will continue but more often now they will come to other systems quicker.

And usually they have to cater to the lowest system. Unless they make a different version for the Wii. etc.

I'm an Avid GT5P player (and will definitely play the whole game when it comes out).

I tried to connect my PS3 to the internet today, and it worked though when I went to check the computer, I couldn't access the internet and this comes up when I tried:

The modem connected to the PS3, was connected to a splitter and I had to fix it by disconnecting the modem from the PS3 and from the wall socket, anyone got any ideas why this is happening or how to fix it?

Yeah, the idea in Army of Two was outstanding... But it failed badly...

GTA is awesome game... I still have lot's of things to discover in the game, although i have already passed the story...

And with friends, online is just a blast...

Im really waiting for the new firmware for the PS3.. By the rumours it sounds really promising...

And the BF:BC thing... I think DICE has planned this demo thing pretty good(although the pre-download thing was diaster). Since there's like 2-3 weeks before the full game is released, and with the feedback from the demo, they have plenty of time to polish the game and take out possible bugs...

There is one thing i can't wait... The destructible enviroments... In BF2142, i remember how much the glitchers in FoB got on my nerves... Try that sh*t in this one, and i'll grab my laser designator and level (almost) the whole house around you...

I would very strongly recommend getting the demo first! Don't shell out just yet, even use your friends, i.e. if one of your mates has it first go to his place & try it out.

Anyone have Rock Band (I know Therealmat does) I would like to know what you think about it when compared to guitar hero. It hasn't been released here and I don't really know whether to buy it or not. A major factor that deters me from buying it is the enormous cost, it's around $150 in the US, and there will be a large mark-up (like all other games) when it is released here and also it seems far more group orientated than guitar hero (I know there's a solo mode)

The console itself is far superior than the XBOX in both design, noise emission and features which pretty much justified the price straight away as it has a bigger HDD (40 gb) than the stock 360, it has built in WIFI rather than making u spend $160aus on an adapter that hangs out the back of ur machine (xbox), it uses a direct HDMI cable rather than making u buy the specific branded one thats priced upward of $70!! (xbox), comes with a wirless controll recharging lead rather than making u spend another $30-50 on one (xbox), BLU-RAY!! AND another thing i LOVED about the design was the direct feed DVD/BLU RAY player!!! omg! no more stupid freeking disc trays that slide in and out and are prone to jamming!:D

LOL Finally 5niper, i kept telling my friend back home that his Xbox fails, and he did not believe me nor my other mate, so he got a 360, and soon after playing GoW the second day he flipped the 360 vertically and scratched the disc :P i did that a thousand times on my PS3 and no scratched discs so far! Even though its made by the developer that made the greatest FPS ever made ( and no not Halo you xbox fan boys) I am talking about Golden Eye Best FPS I have ever played. What seemed to have screwed this game was the mass hype due to it being developed by the people who made Golden Eye(N64) and when it was released it let down the "community" because something greater than Golden Eye was expected. I seriously think if it was made by a lesser known developer with less Hype it would be more of a hit than it is now.

i now have unreal tournament 3 and vegas 2... theres nothing else to buy on PS3.. i have looked at gamespot.com and there is nothing else on ps3 that is of any intrest to me.. and anything that looks like it does have potential is normaly just crap gameplay.. whats going on? its been out for a few years now and still nothing decent to play.

It depends what games you like, e.g. try Devil May Cry if you like Hack and Slash games, or Uncharted if you like action adventure/shooter or Ratchet and Clank if you like platformer/shooter games and there's a heap more games you might like. It's all about personal preference, go to a video shop and borrow a few games that look good, and try them out

Yeah, i know(technically) how to do it...

But i have read posts in this Finnish forum, that people have had trouble to format the HDD to FAT32 and get the whole 320 GB show up... There's been stories that some people has managed to "loose" almost half of that size...

Stone, I'm not one to tell you what to do, but a 320gb is really over kill. a 180 will do you fine.


(Also, the Drive HAS to be Fat32, or it won't work. This goes for any size drive.)

I have gotten few of those too... But i really don't use anything else than the OctoCamo mask(the first one you get)... It bumbs up the camouflage percentage pretty good...

But that's mainly because i have been playing on consoles for ages(way longer than i have played on PC). So i have no problems playing FPS's with controller.. Like some people do have after moving from PC to console...

We already receive some games for the PC from a company in Canada to review. I did one back in January (http://www.totalgamingnetwork.com/page.php?do=nextlifereview) im writing another one right now actually and will start the other when I finish the game.

Also another thing I have to purchase is a Wireless Internet Router..... I knew I should have had mother buy one when she offered. Our old wired router died and the other computer is so old we said screw it and just took the modem straight to this PC. There is no TV nearby this computer and Im not going to run wires all over the damn house.

Hopefully she agrees to buy the router...

We already receive some games for the PC from a company in Canada to review. I did one back in January (http://www.totalgamingnetwork.com/page.php?do=nextlifereview) im writing another one right now actually and will start the other when I finish the game.

Also I will be talking with Spawn in the future about getting more people on staff to review things. But thats a lot farther down the road. We have to start very small.

Getting more people to write reviews etc shouldn't be that hard in here.. Since there is loads of talented people here in TGN who's interested about that(well, atleast i think so)...

About that MGS4... You seriously need to get it... I think(and many others) that it's the best game made yet. So it's definetly something you should look into...

And to get an idea what has happened in the past 10 years with the series(if you haven't played MGS before). Gametrailers has this 'Metal Gear Retrospective' (http://www.gametrailers.com/player/33740.html) series in their site, it has 6 parts and they are each about 20 min long. But you will get pretty good idea what has happened...

The ps3 has better Browsing imo, it has all the plug-ins the PSP didn't, and it's similar browsing to my computer.

Yep... I've been surfing to TGN with my PS3 numerous times...

Only downside(atm for me) is that since i don't have a keyboard, i have to type with that on-screen thing. And it's really time consuming and annoying...

At this moment, i can remember that you use start to enter url. select to view bookmarks, L1 to go back, and R1 to go forward...
