Update from EA about UK pre-order [Archive]

OK guys found this on the EA UK forums from an EA admin

Play.com is the retailer that will be handing out the download codes.

Play.com will email the codes out to those that have pre-ordered.

The demo should be available later today.

This is both PS3 and 360

So hopefully this is true, you can check it out at the link below

Just checked my email and nothing from Play.com :( so looks like I might have to wait after all. :( Has anyone else had an email from Play?

On the upside I have just got an email from SEGA for a place in the Football Manager Live Beta so I guess I'll have to play that until the BC demo is released.

Pre-order before midnight Sunday 1st June and receive an exclusive code to download the demo from the PlayStation Store. Codes and instructions will be sent Monday 2nd June.

No... this is the UK not the US, gamestop don't exist over here

the only choice for us was play.com and they have managed to make an arse of it...

Looks like both are to blame. Play shouldn't have agreed to send out the demo keys if they weren't going to be ready to do so. They didn't even know about any codes until it was pointed out to them the day before. But either way you would think EA would have sent the codes out before today in order to be ready for it.

Well as has been suggested i don't think it was Completely EA's fault, However it is slightly laughable that two large companies Like EA and play.com could have such a break down in communications to the extent that this situation could arise in the beginning... but they are doing something about it so it's not all bad.

Ill admit that at least they have figured it out at last, which is more than you can usually expect from EA. I think my day is just getting on top of me lol.

Totally agree about the communications, if i were those two companies i would be very embarrassed.

The demo won't show on xbox live even if you have the code... you enter the code in the redeem feature on xbox then it automatically downloads to the hdd. i wont show in the marketplance until the 5th.. it's the same way the cod4 beta worked on the xobx :)

Oh, so basically, there was no such thing as early demo access? :confused:

Or is June 5th the early demo access?

There is early demo access... they send you an e-mail with the code.. (before the 5th if your lucky) then you enter the code in xobx live and it downloads the demo.. that way only people who pre-orderd get the demo, Then on the 5th the demo will be put into the market place for everyone else to download.

I'd check the official BFBC Forums as I'm sure I read somewhere that Gamestop had stopped giving out early demo codes. It might not be right but just so you don't make any hastey decisions its worth checking.

I think EA could have done more with this whole thing...

For example the EA's Finnish site. It said that people who pre-ordered from set retailers(bunch of Finnish gamestores), will be getting the demo early.

And when i called to one of those gamestores, he said that EA hasn't told the retailers anything about this...

So i will be blaming EA for this mess up...

Yeah, this whole demo thing was a complete flop... What a mess. Yuck!

I honestly can't believe how bad it turned out... I was so excited for today and was looking forward to it ever since the Beta. What a major screw up...

It's really awesome that EA promotes that people who pre-ordered get's a head start on the demo.

And now when the early demo codes should already be delivered. There is like 50 guys(even that many?) who actually got the code and is playing demo right now...

I just hope that this doesn't get any worse from this...

I can think of atleast few ways for this to get worse from this...

1) Demo on the 5th is delayed/cancelled
2) The full game is delayed just before the release..

If the full game is delayed for some reason... I'll most likey change my pre-order to MGS4...

Im gonna get the MGS anyways bit later... So if EA f*cks up the release, why not just get it when it's released... Besides you really don't loose anything if you do so...

Let's just all hope that the release goes as planned, so we can all go out and create some mayhem in the MP... :D

I think I'm going to do that petition for Infantry Only for sure now... After the whole mess, I think EA owes it to us, one way or another... Infantry Only mode FTW.

IMO there's no point making that thing now... Since we still don't know if there is gonna be infantry only in the full release...

But that's just my opinion...

Yea, MGS4 on the 14th is gonna be amazing, and im gonna get it regardless. But this demo is just the latest mishap, play.com has failed me quite a few time over the last few years, so im gonna drive into town and get it put in my hand on the day. Maybe just my bad luck, but i don't wanna risk it lol.

Only 2 days until the demo, its unlucky because the "early" demo coincided with my week off work, but im back on Sunday :shakehead:
