IW Ranked w/ custom maps?

Hey,
Just wanted to let your community know that we are running an IW official ranking server with custom maps. You don't have to start over with a mod or anything like that. You can use the same profile you have already been playing with and enjoy some of the best custom maps out there at the same time.

You will need to download and run our MapSync tool, as the stock system doesn't allow for www redirects in game.

That's what i hate about custom servers, you first need to download 10 files to get on the server and another 10 for all the maps.

well theres no getting around that
at least our mapsync tool helps alleviate the in-game wait time
plus, its going to make sure you have all of the updated maps :D

Not many servers run through /zone/ folder, so all maps you download from the UANMapSync "won't work" on other servers, unless you move all the custom maps from the zone folder to the usermaps folder... I think?

The tool is an in house method for downloading maps specific to our server.
It's not intended to be a generic map downloader.
If you notice, all of the maps' iwd files have been placed in packs in the main folder the way cod2 used to do it. :D

Just a quick update:

We have updated the map list and are currently in the process of patching to 1.6.
Please run the MapSync tool again after you have patched.

An update:

We have abandoned the MapSync project due to an overall (and surprising) lack of interest.

The old MapSync server is now CoD4 Stock/Ranked with the following settings:

Patch 1.7
No PB
Stock system.
Chopper fix.
TDM
Crash, Strike, Vacant, Crossfire and Backlot only
24 client max
1 admin (me)

Hopefully this will attract more tactical players and fewer noobtube using lamers.
We will have moderators on to catch any potential hackers as well.
