Lag/skip issues? Bigtime...

For some reason I get reallly bad lag and frame skips when I play BF:BC.

It looks so awesome and fun to play, but its impossible when your skipping all over the place driving around a tank, or even when flying a heli.

Jeez, when you play infantry its just a shot in the dark, people are skipping left and right.

Anyone else having this problem?

I have read loads of threads about the lag/mic stops workin/sound disappears/freeze problems... Im guessing it's this whole demo experience what is causing them. And lag could be explained with that DICE is setting up the servers... But im not sure about it though...

I consider myself lucky, because i haven't had one single problem with the demo..

Yea, I figured the "demo factor" could have something to do with it.

ive also had pretty bad lag. but im sure that it is just the demo.

I live the middle of nowhere where the internet seems to be a recent invention, im surprised i don't get this as bad as you say.

I get a bit of lag sometimes, especially in the Heli, but everything else runs great.

One Question, 360 or PS3?

Ahh okay, well im PS3, i was wondering what system to know whether i could keep an eye out for it.

Would be interested to hear if any PS3 guys have had this trouble, that could at least answer if it was a 360 issue of not.

Some people have had lag with PS3, and some people hasn't. Like i said before, i haven't had any problems at all. But that could be because the timezones. Meaning i really haven't played on the peak times(evening/night)..

sometimes i can join a really laggy game and then sometimes i can play in a game with no lag at all, so yeah hopefully its just the demo

I've had some, infrequent problems. Like for two rounds, when in a tank, I'd have immense lag spikes whenever I fired, lasting for 5-7 seconds each. But that's not happened again since, same with the sound just randomly disappearing.

im on the ps3, and first time i played MP it was really laggy, jumping all over the map etc. so i went off. Second go on a different server it was fine and has been fine ever since. im getting used to the controls now had a score of 399 last round :P

Well to bring back an old issue, most of my lag is gone as of now.

Maybe it was the server?

I still get some now though, but rarely. its a very fun game. ;)

Yeah I am pretty sure the time of day is effecting it too. I played a little on lunch a few times with no issues at all but at night it is hit or miss.

Im getting frequent DNS errors on the PS3, but i think thats more my Service provider (AOL), they are just awful.

Time of day makes a difference as well like ^^ said, as soon as 3ish rolls around and all the kiddies come home, its gets a bit slow.

I usually get lag during the night. For me it's not only the demo I think it's my rooter too because sometimes it goes off for a bit but that happens more during the night.
