View Full Version : If you could play one normally unused I/O map, what would it be?

If you could change say, 1/2 of the "karkanders/jalalabaders/non-IOers" to another map in IO, what would it be? And why would you want to do that?

Me -> I want wake, because of the sniping (good visibility, no real hiding spots most of the time if you just randomly prone).

And the others I voted for? Good camouflage, so you would have some good sniping there too.

Definitely Songhua Stalemate, probably the best IO map ever created.

A would be happy to spend the rest of my BF2 time sniping at kubra dam, if it was I/O it would be so much of a snipe fest, its the ONLY sniper friendly map IMO, as it has lots of high places to look down on, where as other maps you climb a ladder and only get to the roof witch makes you a easy target as sniper can quickly scan roof tops looking for targets, but at the dam its different as even the dam its self has lots of different levels, then there are 6-7 cranes and then it has high hills and high peaks.

But seems its nearly impossibale to find a I/O kubra dam map i will have to stick to jalalabad and karkand for my daily sniping fix.

Although playing kubra dam with jets and chopper taking off has its sniping fun too if you pick the 50 CAL, as sniping is pretty much all a play.

BF2 hitbox is already ****ed up and you choose Songhua where it's harder to see soldiers?

Yeah, coz cranes are so good to snipe from:rolleyes: And so are high hills and mountains

That map is soooo much fun:D

Yes coz you know EVERYTHING when you are only 17, just like every other 17 year old.

Some people here spend more time on the forum than in the game, and just think they are good at BF2 because they have 2000 posts.

Am more of the game type person and have 1600 hours of BF2 time and 80% of that is sniping, so let me be the judge of where is good to snipe from, it was only yesterday i killed WOokie drykill twice in one round and drykill is the best sniper the WOokies have.

And am not the one with the claymore kills in the kill text, it was two head shots i got.

PS. Do you know what a tampon is yet ??? Then check out this post you made.

Dude, as far as your screen shot goes you could have spawn killed him with a Claymore or even worse just photoshopped that kill message. It doesn't show it in the scrolling messages. That's like me posting a screenshot of myself in a chopper with a kill message of me killing Sloi or Cynic without them in the picture or a blown-up chopper falling through the air. And with nothing in the scrolling messages as well? Expect people to be a little suspicious.
And douchebags who keep saying Highway Tampon are just as retarded as people who say Karkland or Sharky or Jalalalalalalalalalalalalaalalalalabad. It's not cute. It's not funny.

Waah, get on topic. You don't have to constantly advocate your opinion, just present it once and leave.

@L96: No one is god. So don't think there is a "best" sniper. Everyone dies, it's a part of life. So don't brag unless you killed a hacker. And please - try Wake I/O. You want sniper heaven, there it is.

K?

Anyone who in any way argues that BF2's aiming engine (handling the hitboxes, the shots, the whole thing) is suited for infantry combat is just plain wrong. After playing a lot of infantry in different games (such as Counter-Strike and/or COD4) it is nothing but blatantly obvious that BF2 really is NOT suited for infantry at all.

BF2 is always, has always been, and will hopefully always be a game featuring heavy open ground fights between vehicles and minor squads of infantry - not the Karkand-loving gay fest it has become due to IO.

16 player Kubra Dam offers pretty diverse styles of Infantry play.

Never played that - seems interesting indeed!

Small maps are really fun for IO combat. Songhua and Oman especially.

the Karkand-loving gay fest

So true. Only way to level the playing field there is impeccable (or at least decent) skill. Think of it as a 300 type of thing.

No option to vote for Stalingrad or Berlin. ;)

I chose Songhua because... well, I always get raped by APCs, and with the thick fog constant sniper headshots will be less abundant, so it seems like a good close-combat I/O server.
I didn't choose any of the Carrier maps (like Wake, that was the worst) because all of the US team would have to swim and would be raped by Chinese/MEC snipers.

Songhua Stalemate IO because I've played it and I/O is awesome. It reminds me of an infantry map in the jungle that I played in Battlefield Vietnam.
