(PS3) Trophies not the Current Ones Dice Input please.

As some of you may know that with in 3 days Playstation 3 Firmware will be updated to 2.40 which will added many features. Including Trophies these are kind of like Xbox Achievements but there are 4 levels Bronze Silver Gold and Platinum. I was Wondering if DICE have any plans to implement PS3 Trophies in a Patch I do not see why they can't they have Xbox Achievements why not PS3?

I’d like to clear up a few things real quick with no offense intended:
1.) I'm on these forums because I have been a member of TGN since the beginning and like them, when possible I try and help clear things up with the BF community on released information or ambiguous areas of a released title.
2.) I'm not here to answer personal questions about unreleased information concerning DICE projects, rumors, or anything not already released by DICE through proper news channels. If you want to know something you’ll wait like everyone else and not abuse the fact I visit these forums. This isn’t a ‘You heard it hear first’ service.
3.) Don’t request input from DICE in your subject line. I tend to over look those and most likely won’t answer them. These forums are for you and fellow community members to share and build knowledge as a group to help each other.
4.) I often view threads only as an observer and if something of importance is brought up I get the info to the proper people at DICE, but it is not within my authority to comment.

I hope this helps and I have one question for you Cryptik, do they have a comma on Australian keyboards? Or is that you being cryptic? ;)

P.S. I’d like to thank 99% of the TGN community that has always been very welcoming and respectful to me and looks at me as more of just one of the guys. In all honesty that is all I really am, I just happen to work somewhere really cool. :)

It would be good, but so far, there are only about 8 games confirmed to have Trophy support, most of which haven't been released yet and the trophies are not 'retroactive', as the PSblog puts it. I'm assuming (slashhoping) that a simple patch would allow devs to implement trophies in existing games...

I'm all for console equality, to be honest. I don't agree with exclusive content for consoles because i dont think gamers should miss out, no matter what console they have or even PC.

Achievements/Trophies are a bit of fun, on top of the game so i think they should be added. Get on it DICE. :)

If that's the case then what is the point in having differing consoles if everything is going to be standardised. Exclusives is one of the factors that drives Sony and MS to create better hardware and software in the future.

Last I heard the average age of a PS3 owner is 44 years old which is very interesting. Sadly or interestingly I can say I've played every version of the Metal Gear Series on its release. It is the only series (besides BF) I have never lost interest in.

On a personal note; I have no real interest in achievements as they work now on the XBOX 360 and enjoy playing MGS 4 and BF:BC on my PS3 with out this intrusive messages appearing that break my immersion into the game I'm playing. Would love an option in the 360 to hide these during gameplay and then I'd like them more.

:thumbsup: Exactly, those fit the game and art style and only add to my immersion into the game. Having a message style that is meant to bring your attention away from the game at hand to me is annoying, but for some it doesn't bother them. That is why I'm pro-choice (no abortion jokes ;)) when it comes to users settings and UI.

In the 2.4 FAQ it says only games that have the in game music feature enabled will you be able to listen to your own music. So unless Dice bring out a patch that enables this then its just gonna be in game sounds for all of us.
