my favorite part is about collecting and storing the data outside of the country :)

so this is how internet gaming dies?

Outside the country! Starting to sound like call centres. We all know what happens to our bank details now don't we... they get sold to the highest bidder.

What KIND of information is going to be passed?

well i remember someone from dice saying only IP and how long we looked at the ads.

but the EULA says. ip and other anonymous information, could be anything, system specs. anything ea wants.

Wow how put off i am after reading this BS. Simply not acceptable, saying anonymous information is a good way of omitting truths. My bank details are anonymous information when not supplied with a name...

I've cancelled my purchase and so has all my clan mates. We're now hoping that Quake Wars will be fun.

If Microsoft want to know about any of my personal details or what I like then they can damn well pay me just like everybody else in the advertising chain.

After reading the updated Eula for Vista I (only 1 upgrade allowed) wouldn't support MS for anything.

i emailed EA asking for more information about this spyware. this information should be outside of the box. so you can make a choice before buying the game. as with most companies, once you open the box they won't accept returns.

so if you don't agree with the EULA. you can't play it. or return it. we will see what EA says...

I dont think we needed another thead on it but oh well :/

Even if all it was was IP, thats more than enough to cause trouble.

First thing I would do back in my days when I was bad, would be find all the ports the game uses so I know you have those ports open, then find a way to trace the information sent from this spyware and then when I see you in the game, trace your IP and have access to part of your computer.

At the very least I can easlily cause a disconnect to the game, How hard would it be to blow up a titan when a hacker friend of your can disconnect the entire defending team? :P

I am now EXTREMELY frustrated as i was looking forward to buying this game. Now im on the fence, why should i risk enjoyment with a potential security breach hanging about.

I'm not saying EA would allow you to be hacked, exploited but who really knows how much control they have outside of this country...

Not bloody happy now ¬_¬
