I find it a great initiative on behalf of DICE to go for in game ads: surely, as BF2142 is not freeware and the ads can't be zapped we will be payed per view or click on ads? The other way around is just a gross scam.

I think maybe you're sort of confused about advertising works.

The price of the game atleast should be dropped massivly as its subsidised by advertising!!

I believe the correct phrasing is "Please sir may I have another!". I hope you enjoy it.

I do believe game development costs are rising, at least that's what most of the industry reports revolve around. Think about it... how long have games been in the $50 range? Pretty much forever. Personally I'd rather pay $100+ for a good game, that I will no doubt sink hours into, than be forced to watch advertisements. Hell I don't even watch TV anymore because of that crap they shove in your face every 3 minutes.

When I want a product I research a product and purchase it, I don't need Budweiser/Coke/Tacobell telling me what to buy. But you know that's the rub... when you actually research something you quickly find much better alternatives to the Budweiser/Coke/Tacobells, which is why these sub-par sh!t stain products require advertising to stay in business. I'm soooooo looking forward to this crap being plastered all over the game... really. :shakehead:

I just wonder - will antivirus and antispyware software detect BF2142 as an adware and quarantine it automatically right before the stats update? :D

Would be cool when your game suddenly crashes and a window pops up telling that you computer has been infected with a spyware and has been automatically deleted :D
