Just how many adverts per map you find?

This isnt a troll about adverts ingame (although it could be very easily) i would like to know what volume of adverts will be contained on each level?

IF, and thats a big if, i buy it, i would like to know what we are dealing with here. I wouldnt mind the odd one or two but if theres like 20 or 30 ads per level then i will have to say no way. I have enough ad spam to deal with on the TV and in emails, let alone all the junk that comes through my letter box.

I wouldve tagged this onto another post but seen as its not a direct flame/whine about it ( i just want to know the numbers) so i thought id start a new topic.

Thanks for any info in adv.

Yea, I wanna see some screenshots of these ads and if they are interfering with gameplay or not. I would also like to know if this will affect my computer performance, because I spend hours a week keeping my computer clean and buying adware to install is really not something Im looking into.

Except they're just temporary (therefore blending in quite well) and not the real advertisements we'll see.

For most people its not a matter of noticing them. Its not even a matter of them being in the game. Its a matter of the game transmitting information about you to an outside source where EA has no control over what that source does with the information. Its a matter of having more ports on your computer open to be exploited by hackers. Why hasnt EA said anything about how this works? Evrything they have said is so ambigious.

I will probably still buy this game... I like the demo too much not to. I am still very leary about it though. Especially with the that final statement they made in the EULA that basically said if you dont like it dont install it on a computer with an internet connection.

If there is a way to block the transmission of data youbet your but I will do it.

Yes...I don't mind the billboards RIGHT NOW because they are bland placeholders and blend right in with the environment...they were designed along with the game.

We'll see when the real ads come out.

Ok thanks for the info.

Much appreciated.

Isnt the fact you dont notice them how subliminal advertising works?

Sorry but after doing communications and media studies back in the 80's i dont trust any sort of advertising.

Believe me...I'll notice them when the real ones come out. If only on a matter of priciple :p

I'm sure they're working very hard to try and ensure that these advertisements will blend in as much as possible...but that isn't the problem. The very existence of the ads and that they are monitoring which ads we view..THAT is the problem.

Let's not turn this into another AD thread though...we've answered the question I believe.

Its not the billboards that really bother me, its the collection of your IP and browsing habits that bother me.

Again, we don't know ANY of those details (browsing habits??? who said anything about browsing habits?). Let's wait for official word or until the IGA system is activated.

Closing thread.
