View Full Version : EA Downloader Release Tomorrow?

My downloader says it'll be released Wednesday at 1pm EST or so. Is this right? My clock is right, and Wednesday is a very odd day for new releases. Anyone else seeing this? Thought we'd get it earlier if we pre-ordered through downloader. Oh well!

Mine says in 28 hours? So for me thats thursday but that might be becasue of where I live.

Yeah, it doesnt make a whole lot of sense to me either. I would think that since every EA Downloader purchase saves them loads of money per unit sold, the least they could do is release the game on the same day that retailers are authorized to sell it. They did the same thing with the Special Forces expansion though, so I'm not sure why I expected different. :(

Put it this way guys...if EA doesn't have any LIVE servers until tomorrow...it doesn't make much difference.
I'm sure they'll open up the live servers on the same day as the EA Downloader version is released

Yes, one server IS up and has been up since Friday. Stats were wiped Sunday night..but I guess that means that a few truly addicted people will have a high rank by the time everybody else gets to play.
That will only be a VERY FEW people and nothing much to be concerned about.

Another thing is that the ONLY server that is up is constantly disconnecting people...it must be getting BOMBARDED.
I can't get more than a minute or so of gameplay in.

Single player is still working for everyone though right? Would be nice to check out some of the other maps.

yeah, I wonder why EA Downloaders still need to wait a day, those who bought a hard copy of the copy can already play the game right now, not quite fair, but yeah, nothing we can do about it

no because with the patch that just came out they can play ranked servers and stat ranking in the points, so this is very unfair

At the store? Sorry couldnt resist!!! I am checking a few different stores today...all the ones that say releaase day is the 17th! If I find it i will come back on after lunch and let ya know what store I found it at if I do find i.

I went to future shop when it opened this morning because all their flyers and website said it would be available today. When I got there I was told that it's not available till the 19th, even though the sign IN THE STORE clearly said today's date. So I came home and bought in on EA downloader. Now I gotta wait 'till the 18th at 1pm? I s'pose it's better than having to wait till the 19th, but if the game is in stores and people are buying it, then what's the advantage of pre-loading a game that you have to wait past the release date for? bah....
WTF ? My EA downloader is still saying 2 days and 7 hours... ??

yeah it is funny, when u go into bf2 the ad comes up to pre order on ea downloader it says be the first one on the battlefield. thats a bunch of bull

your CD key is encrypted in the installer along with your EA account; that's why you have to keep the EAD open while installing and launching, it validates your CD key.
